Somewhere I read about the possibility of motherboards including a "1.25x strap", which I gather is basically a divider so you can run at 125mhz bclock without overclocking anything except the CPU. This would be phenomenal for overclocking i3's and non-K i5's it would seem, but I don't know which motherboards include this feature.

Does anyone know about it?

I only know of Intel using this on X79 where all the CPUs are basically unlocked. The CPU is in on it as its used as an additional CPU multiplier not a base clock change.

I just got a i5 3470 which is 3.2ghz stock and ASrock z77 Pro4-m board for work...it has non k OC built in to bios...don't know if you can adjust it, but the switch is enable or disabled.....I have it enabled and the proc run at 4ghz right out of the box.....I'm very happy as I wasn't expecting to OC the CPU....
