nice.

I've actually always felt bad about pirating the Sims games, but it's so expensive to try and keep up with the 10 expansions they release every year... with a sale like that, though, I might go legit

My daughter asked me to get her Lego: Lord of the Rings, and seeing so many recommendations for it makes me think I will get it for her. Thanks.

imho, they're just fun, low-stress platformers.

This is pretty much it. They don't take themselves seriously and have a quirky sense of humor that my ten year old brother loves (Boromir gets shot with a banana instead of an arrow for instance), it's what he wants to play when he comes over. You can "kill" the co-op characters I put it in parenthesis because there is no blood, they respawn almost instantly and you only lose some of the studs you collected, but I find that adds a fun lighthearted competition to it. The puzzles are pretty easy to grasp, but I still find them fun. As a guy in my mid 20's who grew up with Lego and most of the franchises they make these games from there is definitely some nostalgia to it as well.

This game follows the plot of the Trilogy and pulls character voices from the actual movies which is new for the games and kinda neat. It doesn't really add anything else to the Lego game formula but the source material is good enough that they didn't really need to.

The Lego games NEEDS a controller. It is an exercise in frustration to play it without one.

Well, there are now fetch missions, which are new, and the map is the largest yet and expands on the free-roam concept of Batman 2.

The other thing I love about LEGO games is that each mission has numerous blocked or hidden areas and goodies that force you to replay the mission once you have unlocked certain characters. This may seem like a chore, but the lure of "what's behind this rock/door/metal bars" has me coming back.

the lego games are nice, but after playing the 1st SW lego game (which had all 6 movies as playable levels) and a bit of the pirates of the caribean one i felt they are all too similar to each other so i kinda lost interested.

although I heard that this one is the best one they have made so far, so i might fall into temptation one of these days

BTW, TT Games has started developing Lego Marvel Heroes. Expected to be most expansive LEGO game yet.
