$1,200 dollar budget for a gaming rig...

I have to build a comp for my bro while I'm on vacation. His budget is $1,200 including monitor/mouse/keyboard.

I haven't been following hardware as much as I should have (got a job in IT and the last thing I wanna do when I get home is mess around more with a computer) so I'm not as up to date as I would like. We would really like dual core & 2 gigs o ram.

i think i broke your bank.
i don't think you can get dual core, 2 gigs of ram, and a monitor (unless, maybe, you can find a decent CRT for under $100).

Yeah...$1200 with monitor and such will be real tight. I just built a good rig with dual core and 2 gig and was right at 1200 minus the monitor.
