I'm putting a 1.2 gig WD harddrive into a Dell P/133.

Here is what I get:

Display partition information:

Partition C: 1
Status: A
Type: Pri dos
Volume Label: (nothing)
mbytes: 364
system: Fat 16
usage 30%

Total Disk space is 1221 mbytes (1 mbyte = 1048576 bytes)

How do I get the pc to recognize the full 1.2 in one partition

I've had various other hdd's in this machine, the smallest was a 1.6, the biggest a 30 gig.

Thank you for your time.
Raymond

do you want to keep the data on that disk? If so, you need to use a partitioning program like partition magic or Ranish partition manager to resize the existing partition.

If you don't want to keep the data on that disk, you can use fdisk to delete the existing partition and use fdisk to create a new partition that fills the whole disk.
