1.2 Ghz palomino on KT133?

After reading about how ridiculously hot some of the T-bird 1.4's get (50C idle!) I've decided to go with a 1.2 AthlonMP.

I'm also waiting for the Nforce to come out and mature a little bit so I'm wondering if my current MSI K7TPro2A would support a 1.2 Ghz palomino. Right now I'm running a Duron 650 (had it OC'd to 800 but the summer months aren't forgiving enough for it to be stable).

I think the KT133(A) boards are going to need BIOS upgrades to support them.

well the KT133A can run at 266 fsb...the KT133 cannot...so I was unsure if this was possible.

I guess check with VIA or the mobo manufacturer. I think it will work, but in otder to get all the features you may need a bios upgrade. I can't remember all I've read though, sorry.

AMD Athlon (Thunderbird, Socket A) 1300MHz

Thats the highest clock speed supported by my mobo according to the MSI site.
No word on palomino's yet.

That is becuase of the limited multiplier number available...so unlock this chip change multiplier to 12 from the 9.5 and it will run at 1200mhz like it was a thunderbird core.

I think there more likely will be little to none support from kt133 boards since they don't support the 133mhz bus...
