isn't MadOnion owned by intel? read the real world benches from all the benchmarks from sites like Anandtech and you will see that its not fast. but anyway your links doesn't work since it needs a login. and the p4 isn't like a lamborgini, its more like a big dump truck. takes 3 mins to get to 30mph.

hehehe It looked good on paper. But it definitely sucks. The time being anyways. Sad when you have to get it to 2ghz to outdo a P3 at 1ghz.

Whew! I'm glad my days of banging my head on the desk, trying to decide what to buy.. are over!

H3ll, I just buy whatever and slap it together and start gaming/surfing...

It takes me about 30 or so minutes on Pricewatch to have about 4 boxes of crap on the way to my house now. I don't miss those days of beating myself to death trying to decide what to buy!

the difference between 997 and 992 (for lack of a better comparison) is 5. 5 isn't worth 2 months of my life! hehehe

Thinking like "I HAVE TO HAVE THE ABSOLUTE FASTEST PC MONEY CAN BUY" is a Load! Go ahead! Buy it! Two weeks from now, it WON'T BE! Hehehehehehe.

Not to crap on you purchasing decisions. But you might want to do some research on that RAID card. No one that I know of has been able to get an Adaptec RAID card to work properly. I'm not saying they don't work at all, they just don't perform the way they are suppose to. If your going to be buying x15's don't cripple their speed with an Adaptec RAID card. Go to Storagereview and search through the threads for better alternatives.

Dug,

Heh, wish you'd mentioned that a while back. I already bought the Adaptec RAID controller. Fortunately it's still in the box. I've always thought that Adaptec made the best controllers around. I will certainly check things out though. It'll be a while before I finalize my PC so sending it back won't hurt too much.

Dug,

I just checked out the ATTO setup. It only does RAID 0 or 1. I have never felt comfortable doing that. I plan to RAID my system. Windows and all that. I then intend to have two drives (Probably IBM 60 gig) for pure storage and as a work area for various things.

So I got the Adaptec because it was able to do RAID-5. Do you or anyone else know of a better controller for near that price that supports RAID-5? Or do you all think I'm just being silly and should just go ahead with RAID-0 for performance rather than reliability and just make backups alot or something?
