1:1 pixel ratio scaling on ATI's new Catalyst 5.9 drivers

Does anyone know if 1:1 pixel ratio scaling on Digital Flat Panel Displays has been fixed in this driver release to support the feature on all resolutions of full screen applications, like Nvidia's drivers?

Thanks.

Yes... I know. I know it has not been fixed and they have shown no interest in doing so. Likewise they have failed to fix the dreaded widescreen on standard TVO defect for seven months. A pox on ATI. A pox, I say!

So I see you've been watching me post these every time a new driver set is released. :p

Anyway, you can usually help me, so thanks!

I can't believe they really don't care...Are we the only ones that really care about this? (And BroadbandGamer, I think his name is)

It's so annoying. Even if ATI were to release some good cards to compete with Nvidia's, I can't even consider them because of this. (insert angry emoticon)

i posted this on tech help but if anyone knows the answer I love you forever:
"This driver came out yesterday, but when I installed it I got massive graphics tearing in Counter-Strike 1.6 and it affected my sensitivity as well >_<.

I reinstalled the 5.8 driver but what i really want is an old intermediate version of 5.9, does anyone know a link? Actually i'm not sure if there is an intermediate version but the version I used to had has a different format from 5.8 but similar to 5.9 where if you went into the advanced settings of the display it would have lots of red tabs.

Also, I cannot get my refresh rate back to 100 Hz on my desktop. I used refreshforce to lock my Hz back at 100 Hz and it says 100 Hz but I KNOW its not at 100 Hz because the difference is visible

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks."

Yeah Josh7289, it's beyond ridic. Really it would be best to keep alive a single thread -updated after each driver release as a tribute to ATI's indifference and/or incompetence, if nothing else... similar to the Theater Mode defect thread over at rage3d.

acshen, perhaps you are not aware that driver and control components are available seperately as well as in two packages -one with with the standard Control Panel (Advanced tabs) and one with Catalyst Control Center (a seperate application). Note if the CCC package is installed and the CCC is selectively uninstalled then the CP will be available. I suggest running ATI Software Uninstall Utility either from Add/Remove Programs or any instance of the file (aticimun.exe) to remove all ATI software. Then install the package you want, paying particular attention to the file name (including either "cp" or "ccc".

Can you explain what this problem is?

And why the hell is ATI using a "Download Manager" (Java applet and/or ActiveX control) for Catalyst downloads now? :|

I get 1:1 pixel scaling on my 2005fpw w/ X800XL, but I guess what you're talking about is for screens that don't have that feature built in. Can you do 1:1 pixel scaling on all Nvidia cards?

Y'know, the graphics device cannot force the display to disable its internal scaling. So if your monitor controls don't let you set 1:1 mode, setting the graphics card to 1:1 won't help - the graphics card then won't scale, but the monitor will. There's absolutely nothing the graphics card or its driver could do about it.
