I have been running my 1.1 GHz CPU on an MSI K7t-Pro-2A motherboard. When I run with the Case cover off have a cpu temp. of 113-118 degrees F. When I run it with the case cover on it reached 135 approx. and my system crashes. What are you doing to keep the heat down?
I am using an AMD appoved fan. I am considering a water cooling solution. Please advise.

I got 1gig tbird on same board. My hsf was come with the cpu on retail box. I don't do game, but I run lots of programs and windows same time. The highest with the case closed was 105 or 106. I don't think your hsf is good enough. Change it with better one.
Another thing is my case is big, and lots of room with 2 case fans, if it makes any diffenence. But if it does, it should be very little.

I have a Towere case and I am running several windows in the background. I am using only the cpu fan and p.s. fan. I just bought a new case fan to add in.

What hsf exactly are you using, and how are you sure that it's AMD approved? Look for a brand, as sometimes you can't always take the salesman's word for it. I'm running a 1ghz T-bird on the same board, and my cpu will climb to 40C at most (my room is pretty warm, so it can get up there). However, I also do have two case fans and a 2coolpc running as well.

My suggestion would just be (like mentioned above) to check what hsf you have, and then possibly look into upgrading it. Also, case fans can make a big difference as well. Finally, you might want to make sure that thermal paste is being used between the hsf and chip itself if necessary. Hope it helps

Since it works with the case fan off, but not when its on, it suggests that your case isn't getting enough circulation. Did that case fan that you got help any?
