$1,000 to SPEND

i got 1,000 big ones to spend on a new comp.

can somebody give me a list of the absolute best stuff i can get for $1000? i am somewhat easygoing if something will cost an extra couple bucks if it is worth it.

i was wondering bout your rig me-self... looks pretty dang good to me... ... ... personally, i like the 815/p3 combo so i like my Abit Sa6r but would probably opt for a 1 gig p3 if i had the cash... Geforce 2 GTS graphics are IMO plenty for anyone right now... sound from SB Live! Platinum 5.1 Mushkin Rev 3 Ram (does 150 cas 2) all Plextor drives Intel or Netgear NIC, IBM deskstar ata100 HD... something like this...

Whatever you do.

Don't get a P4. They are all overpriced and require expensive motherboards and ram.

Buy a P3 700e and overclock it to 933Mhz.
Any ABIT Socket 370 motherboard whatever is the new now with 815E chipset or BX chipset.
Ram is cheap now from crucial.com get like 256megs 7E brand. It will be around $90.
Get a Maxtor 45+ HD any size you want.
Get a GeForce 2 GTS video card from Creative.
Monitor you want. 19" monitor are vey cheap now.

Read some reviews on this website and others to make your decisions.

You can find good deals at buy.com on most of the hardware you need.

Save your money for something else.

Your system will not be that much better if you spend $1000 on it now

Save your money on the AMD SledgeHammer that will be 2Ghz at November. That will be a nice investment.
