I have tried multiple times to install the free copy of Vistat from the Powertogether promotion to its own reformatted HD within XP and always get a 0x80070241 error during the copying files part. I even DL an iso of the DVD from elsewhere and tried to use DaemonTools to install Vista from the iso and get the same error message. Has anyone else here on AT had this problem and found a solution? If you google 0x80070241 error and Vista you find alot of search matches on the subject. SOme people have actually paid $$ for Vista and got this error and cen't install it and are out their $$. At least I didn't pay anything for it. Thanks in advance for any and all advice on this matter.

Cheers,

Copy all the Files to HDD like C:\Vistasetup (don't use Daemon tools) and run the installation from windows xp.

If you get this error "ERROR_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH" your DVD is corrupt

I tried copying the DVD to an iso image and even downloaded an iso and tried installing that with Daemon Tools and got the same error, so the error is not specific to my copy of the DVD. Man this is frustrating. Again, I'm glad I didn't drop any money on this dog.
