Hardware involved is:
2x256 PC2100 ECC Unregistered
1x512 PC2700 Non-Parity (backward compatible)
I am running these in an Asus A7V8X. Whenever I boot with the PNY in the computer, I get a BSOD as soon as I drop into Windows: 0x000000A5 - ACPI is incompatible with the BIOS...blah blah blah. I am able to boot perfectly fine with the two ECC sticks in this board (been running that way for two years). I'm able to boot with ONE 2100 ECC stick and the 512MB stick, or the 512MB stick alone, but unable to do so with both. The BIOS is recognizing the fact I have 1GB of memory, although it's hiccuped at times.
I've tried:
Reseating memory
Flashing BIOS to latest (1014)
Moving the sticks around in various slots
Everything yields the same results, until I pull out one of the ECC sticks. So I've essentially been able to run it with 768MB, but no dice for 1GB.
Any ideas?
