Acura decided to hire all the old Pontiac sylists from the late 90's early '00s.
Knowing the underpinnings are the Accord it would appear to be huge just like the bloated over-styled Accord.

I REALLY dislike Acura's effort at a distinctive brand signature design. Their cars have always been a little bland, but now they've made them outright ugly. This thing looks even uglier than the hideous new TSX.
I feel as though both Toyota and Honda have really lost their way in terms of design in recent years, which has made life a whole lot easier for Hyundai - I don't see how anyone with eyes wouldn't agree that, for example, the Sonata looks better than either the current Accord or Camry (and this TL looks even worse than the Accord it's based on).

I have eyes and I like most of what Toyota and Honda have designed the last few years. The only Hyundai I like is the Tiburon. Remember that taste in car design is subjective.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of the new TSX? From my perspective that is one of the most comprehensive failures in car design I've ever seen, particularly when it's compared to its generically handsome predecessor. This review pretty well sums it up for me.
For what it's worth, I don't particularly like Hyundais - I just think the recent Camry and Accord are hideous, as are ALL of the new generation of Acuras.

Subjective, subjective..
When I saw new TSX in front of my eyes (not from monitor), all the sudden, I fell in love with its look. I think I will get it if diesel version comes to US as current one is neither fast, nor fuel-efficient for my favor (0-60 6.4s Bimmer driver here). But design-wise, it's one the best looking car for me right now. (Infiniti G37 on par)
RDX and MDX are also the best looking SUV in the market. FX and CR-V on par.
Recent Camry is much better than last gen, which was boring car with boring look. My parents drive older Camry, and when the new one came out, I blamed them not buying new gen. Not as good as new Altima or Accord, but better than anything else. I really love Toyota/Lexus' L-Finesse design concept.
New Accord, I think, is one of the best looking family sedan/coupe ever made, along with new Altima.
See how subjective it is when it comes to design?
