I drive an 06 TL.

Lookin at the 2009 TL, it looks like ass (well the ass end does) front looks pretty aggressive.

Acura decided to hire all the old Pontiac sylists from the late 90's early '00s.

Knowing the underpinnings are the Accord it would appear to be huge just like the bloated over-styled Accord.

HaHa... first thing I thought when i saw the grill was a Pontiac Bonneville

They killed it.
The groove running down the side of the car with the handles in it tied the look together.
It made it almost beamer-like.
This looks like an Infiniti from the side, a Pontiac from the front and a disaster from the back.
I get that Acura is trying to incorporate their new grille shape all over their new cars, but it looks terrible in the back of this car.

<-- Proud TL owner

I'm thinking it looks more like the 2008 Lexus GS300. Except an axe murderer attacked the truck and rear valance.

I REALLY dislike Acura's effort at a distinctive brand signature design. Their cars have always been a little bland, but now they've made them outright ugly. This thing looks even uglier than the hideous new TSX.

I feel as though both Toyota and Honda have really lost their way in terms of design in recent years, which has made life a whole lot easier for Hyundai - I don't see how anyone with eyes wouldn't agree that, for example, the Sonata looks better than either the current Accord or Camry (and this TL looks even worse than the Accord it's based on).

I really liked the current generation TL, especially the S in black with the dark rims. The new TSX and probably TL look as if it has a super hero logo on it's chest.

Ewww, it looks like they have the new TSX grill in it! The current TL is a beautiful car (designed by Pininfarina). Why did they have to mess it up?

I have eyes and I like most of what Toyota and Honda have designed the last few years. The only Hyundai I like is the Tiburon. Remember that taste in car design is subjective.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of the new TSX? From my perspective that is one of the most comprehensive failures in car design I've ever seen, particularly when it's compared to its generically handsome predecessor. This review pretty well sums it up for me.

For what it's worth, I don't particularly like Hyundais - I just think the recent Camry and Accord are hideous, as are ALL of the new generation of Acuras.

Subjective, subjective..

When I saw new TSX in front of my eyes (not from monitor), all the sudden, I fell in love with its look. I think I will get it if diesel version comes to US as current one is neither fast, nor fuel-efficient for my favor (0-60 6.4s Bimmer driver here). But design-wise, it's one the best looking car for me right now. (Infiniti G37 on par)

RDX and MDX are also the best looking SUV in the market. FX and CR-V on par.

Recent Camry is much better than last gen, which was boring car with boring look. My parents drive older Camry, and when the new one came out, I blamed them not buying new gen. Not as good as new Altima or Accord, but better than anything else. I really love Toyota/Lexus' L-Finesse design concept.

New Accord, I think, is one of the best looking family sedan/coupe ever made, along with new Altima.

See how subjective it is when it comes to design?

Ok. So lets take a poll to judge the 'subjectiveness'.

I'll base my decision whether to like or dislike, when the cladding comes off and I see it in full production body panels. The mask on this one are subtle, but are still there and mar the overall look.

We got an '08 TL-S (auto...the wife doesn't want to learn to drive a manual) and we like it.

I've got a lease ending next December and I will anxiously be waiting to see what all of the options are as well how well this next iteration looks.

300hp+ and RW or SH-AWD should be sweet.
