'08 MBP Replacement Battery ...

I think mine shit the bed. I keep getting the Service Battery Notice .. this all started when I upgraded to SL. I tried all the recalibration etc ... nothing seems to make this go away and it's running very sporadically .. ie sometime I get 20min on a full charge .. sometimes a couple hours. I'm done screwing with it.

What's the best Third Party Battery? I'd prefer not to shell out 130 at the Apple Store.

You can always try ebay, but be wary.

My '07 MBP battery stopped charging at all, and at some point I noticed that it had started to burst. My local Apple store replaced it under AppleCare warranty.

If it is under warranty, they may or may not replace it. My buddy's battery in his MacBook Pro was under warranty and was only getting about 15 minutes of life, took it to the store, but they determined that it was user error and wouldn't replace it.
