I am waiting for the Camaro Z/28, if GM gets their head out of their ass, I'd really be tempted.

EDIT: I agree on waiting for the eco-boost from the Mustang, I expect power will be anywhere from 365 - 400 bhp, but I don't think I'll buy another Mustang until:

1) They put in a six speed for the V8s/whatever turbo'd engines they plan on
2) Figure out how to reduce production costs while increasing the quality. If Audi and BMW can do it, you can too.

3) This isn't as important, but I think the Mustangs, GTs not so much, but GT500's/Cobras/350's, etc. need independent rear suspension, solid axle may be nice for dragging, but this isn't Nascar, IRS is a good idea.

Sorry but people don't buy a Mustang as a car to go around the corners. When people buy Mustangs, 99% of the time it's drag. Stangs aren't meant to be soft cars on roads either. Solid axle is fine for what they are.

Mustang with a stick. Can't get the SRT8 with a manual right?

Nope. The only manual SRT's have been the 4's and a manual Challenger SRT8 came for in the 09 model but that's it.

Well considering the money you pay for a GT500KR, and all the hype around it, you'd at least expect it to have IRS. Look at Roush and Saleen. So much effort is put into the quality of handling and riding in general, the manufacturers could at least offer a 'track pack' version that offers IRS.

Other than that, I agree, a standard solid axle is fine.

And yeah, the SRT8 Charger only has an Auto, unfortunately. I don't know why people would want the slush box automatic.

Well if you're not sure, then.....wait.

It's a big commitment and a big decision, sounds you aren't 100% thrilled with the SRT8, so don't buy it.

Otherwise 6 months from now you'll be hating your car, hating your payment, and hating life.

This

If you're second guessing yourself means you really didn't get the car you wanted. Just wait and get something you want. I'd rather get the SRT8 over the Mustang cus they are much rarer but if you really want the Stang then get it.

Ditto, Mustangs are way too common now, hardly see Charger SRT8s.

Or if the quote on Challenger R/T is good, go for that. But no Mustang IMO

What do you mean? You are only 18 I think, correct?

Yes, I don't want to speak too fast, but if things work out, yes, Z/28 here we come. 😀

I'm going to assume daddy will be footing the bill, if so he's pretty irresponsible.

There's a fairly likely chance you'll end up as a stain on the pavement in a car that powerful at that age.

Not trying to hate on you, but I think you should set your sights on something more in tune with your road experience.

The interior on Mustang GT's suck!

I'm not saying the SRT8 interior is German quality it is better than a Mustang GT's. The Viper seats in the SRT8 are nice along with the 20" wheels.

SRT8 for me but I'm more of a sedan guy!

I figured you would be saying this, (not you personally, but someone) and you'd be right to think so, but it's not the case this time.

I fully agree with your statement, it is irresponsible to let kids drive fast cars, which is why if I do end up driving such a car, the insurance, money, financing, etc, will be done by yours truly.

For the record, my first car was a Volvo v70, and my daddy-would-be-footing-the-bill drives a 1993 Dodge Caravan.

You can tell he doesn't like cars much/ isn't willing to shell out money for a fast car for his son.

I've driven a lot of fast cars, not pretending to be experienced, but I do understand what they're capable of. Right now, I'm driving a Steda 'Stang, so it's just right for my age group, I think.

One of my friends is driving an RS4, I'd hardly say he's extremely careful, but he has enough sense to treat the car with respect, but I'm not 100% sure what he does all the time.

His dad does have an LP 640 Murialago though. 😀

Additionally, that's why I said I wasn't 100% sure, considering I would be the one financing it all. 😛

Ok not trying to be a dick, glad you understand that.

That story last year about the 4 kids who died in daddy's M5 happened right down the road from me, so I just really cringe when I think parents aren't doing the right thing.

Yeah, point taken man, people do stupid shit all the time. Thing is though, I know this is somewhat random, but its one of the reasons I like driving a stick shift--by doing so I am viscerally attached to the car, and therefore, I am constantly checking RPMs, gear lever positions (mentally of course) and of course, watching my speed.

Regardless, what it boils down to is a bunch of dumbfucks, not really respecting the car, and just taking it out, assuming it's the end all of cars.
