do you like your car?
acceleration?
braking?
handling?

there is a deal here in denver for an 05 corolla xrs with 50k miles(kindalot for a 2 yr old car) 6spd manual tranny 170hp 140 torque.....12k kinda makes me wonder whats wrong with it

I'm interested to know too, as i may be in the market soon as well.....

you have to realize, OP, that they sell brand new for 18k.....so 12k for a 2 year old car is sorta realistic

Maybe your mom got unlucky. Toyotas are generally considered one of the most reliable makes on the road. But even the best companies can't make 'em all perfect.

'95 Prizm (Corolla).........bought w/ 124,000 miles........now has 144,000.

=] i love you, i agree too but i wanted to know how they performed =[

A good place to ask if you haven't already is the toyotanation.com forum. (The Corolla forum)

You'll find plenty of owners there and get some good feedback.

The only thing that really sticks out in my mind is that there were some fuel system changes (different injectors, fuel rail, etc.) to make things more fuel efficient. Well, there were a few out there that had a "starting problem". However, I don't think it applies to the XRS at all and, regardless, Toyota would back you up on any problem you have with your car.

damn, i really shoulda bought a corolla, if 12k makes you think something is wrong with it

I bought an 05 Corolla a year and a half ago with 8k miles and it was under $15k, so I definitely don't think $12k for one with 50k miles is too cheap. I love the car though, I get between 35-40 on the highway and always over 30 in the city. It certainly isn't a muscle car, but it has enough acceleration.

The XRS is going to be a different beast than a regular corolla - IIRC, it's got a better suspension, bigger wheels, and a bigger engine/close ratio transmission.........
