small pic

i've been seeing these more and more around town lately-- and i'm really liking the new style. Just like the old sentra, with the new Maxima grill. i Think it looks a lot better on the Sentra than the Maxima though.

i've been seeing a lot of the new Maxima's around here too.. that sky view roof kicks ass.

I do like the new maxima though. 350z-ish look to it.

test drive a corolla, a civic, and a protege... then a sentra... and tell me which one accelerates like crap. The fact that it had 130hp on the base model sentra and really good pickup for a $12.5k car was a major selling point for me.

the corolla is the only car to come close.. but cost over 1,200 more for the base model.

a good frined had a 01 sentra got 80K miles on it in 1 1/2 year. Traded it for a 03 Civic... REGRETS it big time. Civic is okay power, pretty okay interior, ride is fine. Sentra had awsome ride, low to the ground, awsome power.. does 0-60 real quick and handles awsome. And the sentra never gave him trouble even with 86 octane.

Also I drove a 97 altima (sentra pretty much back then) from nyc to rochester... doing 125mph 3/4 of the trip.. awsome mileage and ride. Nissans in my book.. even though it might be a lower model run like a dream.. lets hope the engineers kept the longevity of the sentra intact. Current Sentra I really don't like the shape of.. but the next gen looks pretty good :D

The more I see the new Maxima the more I like its styling (and I wasn't nuts about it at first.) The same with the Sentra. However, I REALLY wish they'd lose the bucktooth split grill. It takes away from otherwise pretty good looking cars. I also wish they'd get just a tad more variety in their 3 major mainstream cars. The Sentra, Altima, and Maxima basically just look 3 different sizes of the exact same car. I guess that's the idea, but I like it when there's a bit of variety in the looks between series. But at least it's a fairly good looking base body style. Only Mazda has better looking mainstream sedans right now IMO.

A ten year old almost any car is crap. I wouldn't want to own a ten year old BMW, MB, etc.

Alot of forum whores rip on econoboxes cause they rode in an old one and think the new ones are that bad. A new corolla has better build quality then the above said ten year old BMW/MBs.

That being said, that's still an ugly ass grille.

10 yo cars are fine if you take care of them I had a 1990 300ZX and was 10 yo was produced in 89 the car was healthy tight and ready to go (non-turbo.) I have an Accord that is almost ten yo with 135k on it that drives great. I had a 3 yo mistu with 30K on it and it was junk. It's not the age it is the design/quality of the car. I also drove a Maxima for awhile so i am not a honda fanboy but I'd be closer to a nissan fanboy even though I drive a Honda now. Forget a '04 sentra get a used 240 or Maxima :) Hell get a 300ZX!! remember a sentra not matter how you dress it up is still a sentra ! Hey baby wanna take a ride in my Sentra??;)
