I have started experiencing an intermittent problem upon starting my Altima. The front end shakes fairly violently and usually stops shaking with in 30 seconds or so of starting to drive. The first time it happened I stopped and popped the hood and the engine block was vibrating pretty strongly. This has happened maybe 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Any ideas on what the problem might be and how expensive it could be to fix?

Sounds like an ignition issue, some cylinders aren't firing at first.

When was the last time you replaced spark plugs/wires? Last time your fuel system was cleaned, filter replaced, etc?

I have not replaced and spark plugs/wires. The fuel system has not been flushed in quite a while, filters replaced 2 oil changes ago (maybe 10-12000 miles).

Will have these looked at during next oil change which is anytime now.

Thanks!

Keep us posted!

Edit: fuel filter is probably fine then, not to worry. My money is still on ignition, especially if it's never been replaced.

Missing, missing, missing.
One or your cylinders....
is missing...
tonight.

Had it been particularly moist outside prior to this happening?
