Okay... started tinkering with this new chip...

i tried 12 x 200 = 2400 @ 1.85V but prime errored after 1 hour... i believe this was a temperature problem... room is so dang hot...

currently running 11.5 x 202 @ 2323 @ 1.75V (actual is 1.7V) and it's priming away.... i will post more results and benchies as soon as I have the time....

btw... if anyone is thinking about getting the palmtreepc memory... all i have to say is.. mines running at 2-2-2-6 and it cost A LOT less than corsair... 🙂

not too bad... slightly better than the 0302 JIUHB... still wondering how people are getting 2500 on air though... hmm...

I suspect your criteria for stable and most of those who are running 2.5ghz on air are at odds with each other 😉

i suspect you're right 🙂

i guess i did once own a 2100+ that could do 2500 mhz on air but not stable...

but i do believe some of these people are getting these results with a very stable overclock..

anyway... let's see if my chip is still running prime when i get home....

I agree. My expactations for a certain chip are usually 100 - 150 MHz lower than the "consensus" overclock listed in the forums. I ordered a Week 10 yesterday and 2.3 - 2.4 will be fine with me, even coming from 1.9.

Shimmishim: What cooling are you using and which Palmtree RAM did you buy? The Winbond?

2.3-2.4 is nice... but 2.5-2.6 is better 🙂

lots are getting 2.4-2.5 stable with the rare 2.6
it all depends on your other hardware, week, batch, etc... and some luck
burning in helps also

C-O-O-L-I-N-G ? ? ?

And does anyone know where I could get a hold of one of these chips in Canada?

he said on the palmtreepc RAM 🙂

Um, no I didn't. It was just a compound sentence. Palmtree doesn't come with RAM sinks. I see from your profile though that you're using an SLK-800. AT is blocked from work and I couldn't see your profile until I got home.

This is good for now... not over the 2.4 mark quite yet....
My 308 won't run stable with a vcore over 1.7. I've been running for the past week at 12 x 200 with a 1.675 vcore errorfree. Maybe your vcore is too high?
I agree with you on the ram. Corsair, OCZ etc is a waste of money IMO. When you can run low timings with cheaper ram there is no benefit to paying more.

tried low vcores... wouldn't post...

btw... 1.825Vcore = 1.74Vcore actual

the abit board undervolts like crazy... (at least mine does)

UPDATE:

12 x 200 @ 2400 still running prime strong @ 1.79V (set to 1.875V in bios)

hey!

this chip is doing great! yeah, it was a heat problem before.

running 12 x 200 = 2400 @ 1.79V 🙂

5+ hours on prime so far... will let it prime for another hour or so before i stop

yay!!! a successful overclock 🙂
