This is not college, it's high school (senior)
We have different parts for our research paper grading rubric, and the first part was a preliminary research assignment. We had to find sources, cite them, and write note cards on specific quotes in the cited sources and stuff.
Needless to say, I turned in my assignment on time (last period of the day on the due date). The librarian (person who grades this preliminary research) wasn't there, so her assistant offered to take it and put it into her mailbox.
I found out from my teacher that the librarian gave me a 0% for not turning in my work. Fair enough, maybe she lost it or something.
I walk into her office, and the moment I walk in, she doesn't listen to me and just talks about how irresponsible my behavior was for not turning in my work. I find this incredibly uncalled for since she's like 35 years older than me and a "professional." I tried to tell her that I gave her assistant my assignment and that she could ask him to attest to me giving the work on time, but she said that she gets "everything that is put into her mailbox." So I start getting sarcastic with her because she clearly doesn't want to negotiate and only wants to criticize me for being irresponsible.
Now, I just walk out of her office in her face because I want to prove a point that if she's not going to listen to my valid point (not even said in a sarcastic manner), then I'm not going to listen to her points.
I walk to the library where her assistant is (she's in the meantime following behind me probably whispering more comments about me) and I ask him WHILE the librarian woman is listening: "Do you remember me giving you my assignment?" He said YES.
The librarian woman says to me that she will THINK about grading my assignment. I think that this is bull but assume that she will be a professional and grade my assignment since there was undeniable proof that I turned my work in on time. Needless to say, I just got an e-mail from my teacher saying that I got a 0% on 15% of my research paper. Not only did he say that I got a 0%, he also said that "an apology to Ms. ------------------ is in order."
cliffs:
i) I turn in my assignment on the due date (still on time) - but I had to give my work
to her assistant because she wasn't there for some reason.
ii) I get called in by my teacher saying I didn't turn in my work
iii) I talk to the librarian (who grades this part of the research paper) and she begins to just attack me before listening to what I have to say
iv) The librarian says that I didn't turn in my work on time and I should get a 0%
v) I go to the library where her assistant is, and in front of me and the librarian, says that I did indeed turn in my work on time to him
vi) She STILL says that she will only THINK about grading my work
vii) I leave thinking that she will be the professional that she is and just grade it
viii) I get an e-mail from my teacher saying that the librarian gave me a 0% anyways and that I should apologize to her for behaving in a rude manner
ix) (excuse my grammar mistakes)
So the absolute highest I can get now is an 85% if I get a 100% on my research paper.... yipee...
I'm seriously considering complaining to the school about her because this was absolutely uncalled for (and 2 other students who went into the library to talk with her about their 0%'s were told off as well)
