how good is a camcorder at taking digital pictures when it has 0.8 megapixels??
here
but keep in mind those megapixels are ccd (whatever that means...)
it has 10 x optical and 120 digital zoom... but that tells me nothing about the resolution... so. how's those 0.8 megapizels??

unless you're paying a fortune, digital cameras take crappy video, digital video cameras take crappy stills. It's the nature of the beast; there's no simple way to do both tasks.

ISn't 0.8 just a little above VGA? It's not that great. Like 1024x768 maybe...

Camcorders that take photos really suck. They can't even compare to today's 2 - 3 MP camera phones. I've had someone take photos for us on a trip because our camera died one day, and those 0.8 MP pictures were HORRIBLE. My K750i took better pictures than that (shrunk down to 0.8 MP)

0.8 MP would be 1024x768 pixels. I've seen pictures made by digital camcorders. and they were looking good on a 20"+ TV. I really haven't seen them on a PC, so can't comment on that - but I would prefer all day the pictures taken by a digital camera.

I've seen pictures taken by a phone, late in the evening with only some incandescent lighting - and they were absolute crap. A camcorder is much better in these conditions

0.8 megapixels is crap for photos.

It'd be much more impressive if it could take 0.8megapixel video.
