If Trump really wanted to pursue a court martial he could. He gave Vindman the easy way out after admitting he did not follow his chain of command under oath. This scumbag got off easy but Repubs aren't going to rock the boat when they have the wind at their backs. They are thinking long gain over short.
Actually, no he can't, as he didn't violate the chain of command. When you have an issue with someone in your chain of command that is above you, you are to go to the next person in that chain of command (not those below him). Since Trump is the end of the road as far as chain of comman, going to Congress is the appropriate course of action.

So once again, you are believing lies.

Yes, truth matters and the truth was that Vindman didn't have a good track record in the military. Guy is a fame-seeker as evidenced by testifying in his mil uniform.

Keep telling yourself that-

Propagandist says what?

Fer sure dude, this guy had a truly lousy military record:

"Vindman commissioned into the Army in January 1999 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University, in New York, according to personnel information provided to Army Times by service officials.

He originally joined the infantry branch, serving in South Korea and Germany before deploying to Iraq in September 2004 through September 2005. He was wounded by an improvised explosive device while there in October 2004, but served out the rest of the deployment.

In 2008, Vindman became a foreign area officer for the Army. He served in this role at U.S. embassies in Kiev, Ukraine and Moscow. He also earned a graduate degree from Harvard University around this time.

At one point, he served in Washington, D.C., as a political-military affairs officer for Russia under the chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

While there, he said he authored the principle strategy for managing competition with Russia.

The Army confirmed that prior to his current duties, he served on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon from September 2015 to July 2018.

In the summer of 2018, he moved to the National Security Council in the White House.

Vindman has earned the Ranger Tab, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge and the Parachutist Badge.

In addition to the Purple Heart, Vindman’s awards include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals; four Army Commendation Medals; three Army Achievement Medals; four Overseas Service Ribbons; a Valorous Unit Award; the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation; the Presidential Service Badge; the Joint Chiefs of Staff identification Badge and a Navy Unit Commendation."

You can aspire to be a speck of dirt on the sole of his 2nd best pair of boots.

One wonders what Yevgeny Vindman did to deserve the "displeasure of the President"?. They are twins, he can’t tell them apart; so get rid of both, just to be sure. Reminds me of Umbridge in Harry Potter.

Yovanovich, Hill, Morrison, Taylor, Volker, and Williams have retired from their posts already. Holmes, Cooper, Hale, and Kent are currently still in their roles. Who is next? I'm going with Cooper. Trump hates a woman standing up to him.

There is the technical letter of the law, and there is the law's spirit. Is the president firing people because they're not capable of communicating the national interests of the United States government, or were they fired because the president wanted to punish them for their testimony related to his criminal conduct? It takes more than law to constrain someone who abuses power; it requires virtue among ordinary citizens, to uphold the value system that makes public servants accountable. The Republicans and Trumps cultists apparently don't think he should be held accountable for criminal conduct. Well then, you can expect more of the same.

Sure, except why is he still a Lt Col then? Because he's viewed as a speck of dirt on the sole of his commanding officer's boots because he couldn't keep his mouth shut while parading as a political activist in a military uniform? Yes.

You really don't know anything about the military do you? Or at least not about how Officer promotions work.

It takes 16 to 22 years to BECOME Lt Col. (He did it in 16, as he was promoted to Lt Col in 2015)) BY LAW to become a Army Colonel (his next rank), you must have 22 years of cumulative service in the military and a minimum of three years as a lieutenant colonel before being promoted. Now do the math: 2020-1999 = 21 years he's been serving, which means he can't be promoted to Col until next year BY LAW.

If you are going to argue about something, know what you are talking about first so you don't look like a complete idiot.... Oops, to late!!

And further along the road to dictatorship:

"Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley (Iowa) and Ron Johnson (Wis.) announced a review on Wednesday of "potential conflicts of interest posed by the business activities of Hunter Biden and his associates during the Obama administration."

Why it matters: The announcement came roughly one hour after the Senate voted to acquit President s on both articles of impeachment. The charges stemmed from Trump's request for Ukraine to investigate Hunter and Joe Biden on unsubstantiated corruption claims.

Details: The review was announced in a letter to Secret Service Director James Murray. It states the Finance Committee and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will look into Hunter Biden's business activities in Ukraine and China.

  • "We write to request information about whether Hunter Biden used government-sponsored travel to help conduct private business, to include his work for Rosemont Seneca and related entities in China and Ukraine," the letter reads. It also asks for "the protective detail that Hunter Biden received while his father was Vice President," and a "list of all dates and locations of travel, international and domestic, for Hunter Biden."

Sorry I got to "dictatorship" and couldnt read any further from the tears of laughter flowing down my face.

You must be a Republican, as you are good at ignoring, or not knowing the law. Retaliation, in this form is illegal.
Then they probably won't say it's retaliation, just my guess.
This is the real world, the guy worked for Trump, he testified against Trump to have him impeached. Do you think Trump is going to let that go? Do you think they'd share amusing stories around the water cooler and have a chuckle about the time he testified against Trump? Wouldn't it be just a bit awkward at the white house christmas party?

They'll claim the guy was stealing pencils or copped a feel off a staffer, it almost doesn't matter what the excuse is, there will be one.

Well, what Trump was supposed to do (both legally and ethically) and what he actually did are two different things...

Good. They act like Trump was running his own private gas chamber. These guys aren't heroes. More like backstabbing attention whores.
These kinds of comments make me realize that all hope is lost. And no matter what you try to say to people like this, they 10000% won't even listen or understand.

It reminds me of when I was talking to my 4 year old son today and he simply can't comprehend stuff. But his brain has only been developing for 4 years. Not really sure what the excuse is for people like this.

When you testify against your boss, getting canned is a given. I expect everyone that testified against Trump to get their walking papers.

So to be clear you think it is a good idea that government employees who testify and give information that the government is engaged in misconduct should be fired?
