I really have to wonder about his career prospects though. You’d hope that the Army would still be able to promote him when it’s earned, but given Trump’s interventions with Gallagher and how Navy leaders were pushed out when they disagreed, you really think someone in the army would stick their neck out for Vindman??

He surely has plenty of job prospects outside of the army. Most of the country views him as a hero.

pssst. Let me let you in on a secret - minorities can be conservative too as I can personally attest to. Your ideas will die out with you. My kid will be running the world with other conservatives. May as well just save your time posting online and partake in whatever meaningless hedonism leftists like to do (netflix n chill? pr0n? video games? alcohol? gambling?).

Then why is the GOP so white? And why is Stephen Miller still there, white supremacist that he is?

Ahhhh sure he did. /wink /wink Regardless of the "truth", he admitted to being insubordinate. Do you know what happens in the military when you're insubordinate and try to do things outside of the chain of command?

Link to the admission of insubordination... and the order he not testify.

Telling the truth has cost Vindman his job, his career, his safety and his privacy.

Sure, Trump learned his lesson... it was that he should not have people around him that won't lie for him under oath checking up on what he does.

Trump did absolutely learn a lesson from the impeachment - He learned he could do absolutely anything and his party will back him up

The purging begins. A leader that demands complete obedience and doesn't want to listen to other opinions is a weak one.

Nothing like a good old-fashioned purge to let you know you live in a banana republic.

Bolton needs to hire a food taster and clean his doorknobs often.

The GOP has officially lost it's soul and mind and abandoned all it used to stand for. There is no more GOP. Only Trump.
You can not investigate him
You can not subpoena him
You can not question him
You can not censure him
You can not oppose him
You can not do your job if doing so means you go against his wishes. That isn't a president. That's a dictator. If not legally, at least in behavior.

One thing that’s important to note is that normally when a public official fires someone for testifying against them that public official goes to prison.

Hmm.

Conservatives for the rule of law, how do you feel about this?

And that is the simple equation that tells you without a doubt that the GOP is not gonna give up power 2020 nor 2024... by any means necessary. ANY means.

I think not. If the electoral college says Trump is out, he's out. The states control that. There is no recourse. If a state election board says any Republican is out, they're out. There are thousands of honest people working to keep it honest.

That's his right as president. Comey found that out the hard way and now these dweebs will as well. Any business is going to get rid of a disgruntled employee if they don't leave first. This is the way.

Lt. Col. Alex Vindman has been fired from his job on the NSC and was escorted out of the White House by Security. "The truth has cost Alex Vindman his job."

When you testify against your boss, getting canned is a given. I expect everyone that testified against Trump to get their walking papers.

“In your deposition, you emphasize the importance of chain of command. You were a direct report to Dr. Fiona Hill and then Mr. Tim Morrison and they were your seniors, correct?” Republican Rep. Brad Wenstrup asked him at the time.

“That is correct,” Vindman replied.

“When you had concerns about the 7/25 call between the two presidents, you didn’t go to Mr. Morrison about that, did you?” Wenstrup pressed.

“I immediately went to John Eisenberg, the [National Security Council’s] lead legal counsel,” the “super patriot” admitted.

“That doesn’t seem like chain of command,” Wenstrup replied.

If Trump really wanted to pursue a court martial he could. He gave Vindman the easy way out after admitting he did not follow his chain of command under oath. This scumbag got off easy but Repubs aren't going to rock the boat when they have the wind at their backs. They are thinking long gain over short.

Yeh, forget that truth matters. Forget those oaths before God to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign & domestic. You know, against people like Trump. It's just a piece of paper, right?

Is that an acceptable outcome to you? That any time a government employee reports a violation of some sort the response is that they get fired, irrespective of whether they were correct?

Pathetic behavior on the part of this administration. I hope this gets brought up the next time a Republican tries to claim they support the military.

Yes, truth matters and the truth was that Vindman didn't have a good track record in the military. Guy is a fame-seeker as evidenced by testifying in his mil uniform.

He never invoked whistleblower protection, you are confusing his protections with whistleblowers which are completely different things. He was a fame-seeker who admittedly broke his chain of command and lucky Trump didn't pursue a court martial.

You must be a Republican, as you are good at ignoring, or not knowing the law. Retaliation, in this form is illegal.
