Is this your first time conversing with @Greenman?

LOL!! Good Point Ecogen!

To seal up my comment to @Greenman (told you Trump would brag about it, and of course try to tarnish his record at the same time with more made up bullshit and lies to make Vindman look bad!.. just like Dumpster supporters on this board):

Lt Col Alexander Vindman, a Russia and Ukraine expert on the National Security Council (NSC), was escorted from the White House on Friday after the US president ordered his removal.

He had given evidence to House committee hearings which led to Mr Trump being impeached on charges of abuse of power and obstructing Congress relating to a campaign by the president to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden, a political rival.

"Fake News @CNN & MSDNC keep talking about 'Lt. Col.' Vindman as though I should think only how wonderful he was," the US president tweeted on Saturday morning.

"Actually, I don’t know him, never spoke to him, or met him (I don’t believe!) but, he was very insubordinate, reported contents of my 'perfect' calls incorrectly, & was given a horrendous report by his superior, the man he reported to, who publicly stated that Vindman had problems with judgement, adhering to the chain of command and leaking information. In other words, 'OUT'."

Those who want to believe Trump's lies about Vindman's performance, you might want to know that Vindman is Scheduled to attend War College (Military College) in a few months, something they only offer to TOP PERFORMERS.

Or you conduct witch hunt after failed witch hunt because your feels are hurt because you lost an election. Better yet you misuse your power and impeach the president on bologna charges. The people are seeing right through the garbage that is Nancy Pelosi and her type. That's why Trump's approval is up as high as it's ever been. I honestly don't give two fucks if Ukraine ever gets another cent from us. Send the fucking money to Ethiopia or some other place where it's actually needed.

The actual events are not in question. If you can't get past your irrational faith in Trump to see how immoral & wrong it is then you're his victim, not those of us who see it for the appalling thing it really is. After the Mueller investigation, Trump & everybody else knew it would be wrong to solicit foreign election interference. Trump did it anyway, personally, the very next day. He deployed Rudy, his personal lawyer, to achieve the same ends months earlier. When Zelensky balked, he punished Ukraine by withholding promised aid. The Senate just gave him a green light for even greater malfeasance.

At least the GOP quit preaching about Values they don't actually have, huh?

You seem to be very U.S. centric and uninformed about the rest of the world and how it affects the U.S. in the long run. Our current president and administration is clearly incompetent. An isolationist perspective is indefensible as an American. Why do you hate this country?

He never invoked whistleblower protection, you are confusing his protections with whistleblowers which are completely different things. He was a fame-seeker who admittedly broke his chain of command and lucky Trump didn't pursue a court martial.
What you don't understand, among the many things you don't understand, is that if Trump tried to pursue him by court martial, it would probably get thrown out for improper command influence.

Can't wait for a Dem president to behave in exactly the same way and see what the Repubs say about that then. lol

They'd need a mentally ill narcissist with no understanding of history or government to even get close. I think a partisan domestic agenda is much more likely. We'd have trouble finding a Dem willing to insert their tongue up Russian or Sa'udi ass at all, let alone with the gusto Trump puts into it.

We'd have trouble finding a Dem willing to insert their tongue up Russian or Sa'udi ass at all, let alone with the gusto Trump puts into it.

But that's been the essence of things all along. The Trumpers keep saying this is a "partisan" impeachment; that everything done by the loyal opposition is simply a mirror reflection of their own motivations. Psychologists who have pointed up Trump's psychological disorder against the decisions of their profession to stay out of politics, are being "partisan". It's merely . . . "political". Vindman is "political"; Yavonovitch is "political"; Taylor is "political"; Sondland(!) is "political". The civil service is merely "political" -- all infused with secret Democrats attempting to subvert the president's agenda.

It is impossible to hold a civil discussion with people of no common sense, no reverence for the Constitution except when it suits their lop-sided agenda of promoting evangelical obsessions, stacking the courts -- and failing to see that the Law is not meant to be "political", but a separate standard unhinged from any partisan agenda.

And one wonders how long or how much of this insanity will continue before somebody either turns to massive "peaceful" street demonstrations leading to police violence, or just plain violence.

Trump inspires violence across the political spectrum and divide.

As for my being a traditional middle-of-the-road advocate of common sense and the Constitution, Trump and Trumpers have pushed me Leftward, in the sense that an ascendant "Democratic Socialist" won't phase me much for exacting a disruptive utopian vision and agenda. But that's precisely what we don't want, yet which we already have: Trumpers are not incrementalists, and they are destroying our government from within -- circumventing the Law and convention.

I only worry that America's knee-jerk indoctrination against "public" or "collective" solutions will make it too hard to elect someone like Sanders, who has merely labeled himself to his own detriment for most of his political career. Biden is carrying baggage, much of it spun into a troublesome mirage by the GOP propaganda machine. Buttigieg? Great! But the opposition will make jokes about "his Peter has Beauty Jizz!" and go ballistic over two First Men in the White House at once.

I just got my California Primary ballot. The list of candidates, for being so long, does not lead to easy selection. Assume a "game" of following the initial primaries (and ugh! caucuses) to see how a national preference coalesces, so you can help out with your individual vote. But my ballot must be submitted by mid-March.

Trump must be defeated. Now I see there's trouble with the ongoing investigation by SDNY on the tax-return and related issues: Barr is set to suffocate them. We want the facts! If we have the facts, I'm 95% confident that Trump can be charged and convicted of serious crimes. He needs to do hard time, and his Base needs to see him do hard time.

Instead, we get "purges" vaguely prescient of things to come.

Agree on the projection, I'm just saying at this point Dems still have standards. They're not putting party over country. They understand and respect their oaths of office. I can't say any of that about the GOP,* and as far as corruption goes, hell Trump is in his own category.

Dems want an actual leader who is handy with applied solutions. Repubs want elected followers who see democracy and science as things to suppress.

*exceptions for Amash and Romney

Apparently, some Republican senators, including Susan "I'm Worried" Collins, tried to persuade Trump not to fire Sondland. They did not try to persuade him not to fire the Vindmans.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/group-rep...024932914.html

That makes sense from a Republican perspective, though. Sondland bought his ambassadorship by contributing $1 million to Trump's inauguration. Firing him is bad for business, since no one's going to donate $1 million if they can't get anything in return.

I'd call their "resistance" a case of going for low-hanging fruit, but it's more like they went for the fruit that fell off the tree and already rotted.

So, what's next for Trump? Loyalty Oaths?.

Things like this are a good example of how insane the right has become. They genuinely think that a military officer who testified truthfully in response to a congressional subpoena should be court martialed because the truth was bad for Dear Leader.

Bill Maher had a bit about this on Friday and he’s right, things like this are how a republic becomes a dictatorship.

If true, seems the White House has identified Anonymous (NYT Oped and book writer.) interesting how the most prolific group of leakers could all be military. Almost like they’re trying to warn us about something they’ve been trained to fight against.

Methinks it's because the Repubs have realized it's about the only way they can keep control of the nation, now and especially into the future. In this sense how ironic it is that they would call themselves "Republicans".

Yes, truth matters and the truth was that Vindman didn't have a good track record in the military. Guy is a fame-seeker as evidenced by testifying in his mil uniform.

wt holy fuck are you talking about? that is standard protocol when appearing in a public capacity. You are flat out creating a false narrative that was obviously cooked up by some illiterate youtube longhair that you treat as one of your many little idols.

Propagandist says what?

Fer sure dude, this guy had a truly lousy military record:

"Vindman commissioned into the Army in January 1999 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University, in New York, according to personnel information provided to Army Times by service officials.

He originally joined the infantry branch, serving in South Korea and Germany before deploying to Iraq in September 2004 through September 2005. He was wounded by an improvised explosive device while there in October 2004, but served out the rest of the deployment.

In 2008, Vindman became a foreign area officer for the Army. He served in this role at U.S. embassies in Kiev, Ukraine and Moscow. He also earned a graduate degree from Harvard University around this time.

At one point, he served in Washington, D.C., as a political-military affairs officer for Russia under the chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

While there, he said he authored the principle strategy for managing competition with Russia.

The Army confirmed that prior to his current duties, he served on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon from September 2015 to July 2018.

In the summer of 2018, he moved to the National Security Council in the White House.

Vindman has earned the Ranger Tab, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge and the Parachutist Badge.

In addition to the Purple Heart, Vindman’s awards include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals; four Army Commendation Medals; three Army Achievement Medals; four Overseas Service Ribbons; a Valorous Unit Award; the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation; the Presidential Service Badge; the Joint Chiefs of Staff identification Badge and a Navy Unit Commendation."

seriously man: not a single investigation and trial related to Trump meets the bare minimum definition of "witch hunt."

why do you guys do this: redefine words, invent common practices from whole cloth, argue flatly against the plain observable truth, just to support an argument that you absolutely know is pure bullshit?

How did this kind of thing happen to you?

Isn't it literally required to wear the uniform when acting in an official capacity, like, you know, testifying before congress?

For jobs like those in the White House it's often not required and I wouldn't be surprised if Vindman didn't wear his uniform on a day to day basis there. That being said it is not even remotely unusual for military officers to wear their uniforms when testifying before Congress. In fact, from my memory at least it's by far the most common thing.

All of that doesn't really matter though because all they are doing is desperately searching for a reason to ignore his testimony. If it wasn't him wearing his uniform (lol) it would be something else. Every time you see someone testify to how Trump is a criminal or whatever it's the same dance. Generally speaking if they are nonpartisan or have ever donated to a Democrat then they are only doing it because they are an Evil Liberal. If they are a rock-ribbed Republican then the excuse changes to that they just hate Trump or are jealous of him.

At no point can they allow themselves to admit all of these people from all over the country and all parts of the public and private sector are saying Trump's a criminal because... well... he's a criminal.
