wtf why does this key exist

Any way to rebind, change or disable the scroll lock key. I have a back light keyboard and I'd like to keep the light on but its on the Scroll Lock key. This is a major pain in the ass when I use excel. The keyboard is a CMStorm I don't believe it has any software to reassign keys. I've tried...
