dock

I may not fully understand the TB3 spec and it's backwards compatibility so please feel free to scream "Not possible!" I only have a single TB3/charging port and would like to find an adapter/dock that offers a TB3 as well as TB2 port. This way I can still charge my notebook while using my TB2...

Has anyone had experience with this. I just purchased an XPS 15 9560 with a TB16 dock and I'm hoping to use the dock and my old Apple Cinema display, but I can't seem to get the monitor to work in the dock. I purchased an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter and the screen works fine when I hook it...
