Please clairfy. Was your D drive a partition of the hard drive you are RMAing? OR is you D drive an optical drive (CDROM, DVD, ect). Either way it should be compatiable just install the same OS you used before.
You forgot another step. 11) wipe forehead so sweat does not ruin components. I remeber my first build i was sweating like a fat man walking around the block. DONT FORGET TO DISCHARGE ALL STATIC electricity from your self!
I was thinking of upgrading my CPU and Video Card. Since the good Video cards are PCI-e that means i would have to replace my AGP only motherboard.
Here what i was thinking of upgrading my rig with:
ASRock 939SLI320-eSATA2, Opteron 146, and an 7900GT
This will cost around $590. Any...
Check out some of those board and they look like pretty good suggestions. Any more suggestions would be appreaciated, im looking to spend less than $100 but will to go $120. That ASROCK board is pretty sweet any one know if it is reliable?
thanks for clearing things up. Bobthelost mention that it used 210W per second which i found to be very high energy usage. That would mean every minute would consume kW.
How much watts per hours do power supplies consumes. The reason is that at my house we are very concerned about electricity consumption. For example i have a pcpower and cooling silencer 410 psu in my rig. The question is the wattage rated at a per hours basis or the by watts supplied. If it...
I used to run my BFG 6800GT on my KT3 Ultra and its a 4x mobo. Plus i hear that the difference between 4x and 8x is almost non-existance Though i upgraded from a KT3 XP 1800+ and got a NEO2 w/ a 3000+ A64
yea your PSU Sucks. Although i would comment that spend money on a case is not a bad idea since its that part that has the longest staying power. How about a PSU from PCpower and Cooling?
oooh a BFG 6800. hmm...tell you friend to save up an extra 149 bucks a get the 6800GT. It doesnt matter what brand although i do love my BFG 6800GT OC. Also i hear eVGA, and gigabyte are good brands.
Heres the article i read that said G5s were running windows.
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=14407
its also interesting to note that Intel was trying to bid to make processors for apples system but were cut off by IBM.
I heard a rumor that IBM is bringing their PowerPC CPUs over to the PC side. Also i just got done reading that microsoft gave out development kits for their XBOX 2 and guess what they are G5 running a modified version of windows NT.
I wish i could get close to 2.4 i even cant get any higher that 2.1 and i have a winchester 3000+ w/ OCZ PC3500. whatam i doing wrong?
FSB: 225 cpu volt: auto HT: 4 1:1 2.5 3 3 6 T2 ram volt: 2.6
I guess the moderator must be sleeping since this thread is still open. lol. Dont be bothered with your friends comment about your Intel purchase since you are happy with your P4. Personally i like amd's chips since they give a very good performace/price ratio. So what if A64 beats your P4 by...
Currently my stock BFG 6800GT idles at 60c and at load runs up to 80c. Ive read other forums and threads that said the stock BFG cooler was not very good. Currently the stock cooler is the loudest thing in my system. Does any one have any suggestions on aftermarket coolers for the 6800GT? One...
Your video card idles 56C at that speed i guess i gotta change my cooler on my BFG 6800GT. Also i read other threads that said the stock BFG cooler sucks.

I was just wonder what people are getting from their 6800s and A64. Right now my whole system is running at stock speeds. So my BFG 6800GT is running at 58-62 C idle and my 3000+ 90nm is running 40 C idle are these numbers high?
i always thought that my Z-680s were klipsch killers. How does the 5500 compare to 680s? I dont think Logitech can take Klipsch in the home theater market.
I just currently put together a new system with A64 3000+, MSI K8N NEO2, 1 GB RAM and it will not boot up to the bios screen. I have installed the D-bracket that came with my MSI mobo and so far my system get stuck at Processor initalization.
