    Yes but the converters are more pain the help...with the converter you are creating a false 4 extra pins which puts more power onto your wires than is speced out....generating heat...I know you can hook up a 20 pin PSU to a 24 pin mobo as long as your amps on the single 12V rail are high enogh...

    I only choose the 550 because it came in a packaged deal, but if I could save some bucks, what's a good Wattage to drop down too and still be viable for the next 3-4 years? would 400W do it?
