LOL...I couldn't remember my password for this forum, & it wasn't cached in the new computer when I made that 1st post, so I had to create a new profile here
I was wondering why it auto-logged me in this time... shoulda just stuck with this old reliable PII ;)
fock...I just spent $400 on 2x1 gig DDR RAM, these are brand new!!
not to mention wasting the last 3 days of my free time dinking with this thing...frustrating
thx for the help!
haha!!
I suppose big microwave transmitters would/could do some damage too. or at least make everyone braindead.
or a sharp, pointed stick? ....how about bananas? we haven't done bananas yet, have we?
I know this *should* be obvious, but I'm wondering what the optimum RAM setup is?
is there a trick to getting a combination that has largest capacity, but is fast/low latency?
thx much!!
....if you fart, burp, and hiccup simultaneously?

fwiw I'm using w2k on a PII 400 & 256 megs ram with no problems....have been using it for 4 years or so. before that it was dual booted with NT4/w98
I'd think w2k would run faster than XP, and surely have all the drivers she'd need?
well, my trusty pentium II is still going strong, but I gotta say, I'm getting "the itch" something bad lately!!
I do quite a bit of 3D & graphics work, but I want a killer gaming system as well. I can compromise to get a great gaming setup; I don't need a quadro/wildcat etc for home...
