    Stupid Ebay Sellers

I was looking around eBay today and I found this little gem. http://tinyurl.com/7rl8z "It's that easy!"

    System will not start

I recently got some eMachines parts from a friend. Among them was a motherboard/CPU pair. The motherboard was the standard HP/Emachines/Compaq TriGem "Imperial Rev. G" model. The CPU is a Celeron-A 2.3GHz. (Old, but great for my grandparents who want an upgrade from their Pentium II laptop.)...

    9600XT Driver Issue

Title pretty much sums it up. I recently installed an Arctic Cooling VGA Sikencer Rev3 on it. Although I only noticed it being gone today. It used to be there. Anything?

    Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer

I'm thinking about getting the Arctic Cooling "VGA Silencer" for 2 reasons: it's cheaper than most, and is built quieter than the "ATI Silencer 2" from them. Before I buy this: will it fit on the ATI "brand" 9600XT? AC's site has barely any info on it, and neither does anyone else. Thanks...

    Does old SDRAM Deteriorate?

I was given 2 old machines. Each had a formatted hard drive, and Windows 2000 Pro would not install on either. They had 64MB (P2 266Mhz) and 256MB (P3 1GHz) of PC100 SDRAM. I got lots of "corrupt CD or file" errors while trying to install. if it did complete, even after those errors, Windows...

    Seagate Cheetah SCSI Drive

I bought a Seagate Cheetah ST39102LW surplus for $7. I plugged it into a molex and no spinning-up vibrations or noise. I notice that there is a jumper for 'remot motor start enable" that turns on the spindle motor when the controller is present. This jumper, however, is not shorted. It should...

    No POST, No Video

My friend recently replaced 2 256MB PC2700 sticks with a single 512MB PC3200. As soon as the system was started with the new RAM, smoke came out of the RAM, and the room reeked of burning electronics. It was immediately unplugged. We examined the new stick, uh oh. Some pins on the edge...

    Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu

Well? Will the CNPS7000B-AlCu fit on the AN35N-Ultra? It seems as though the northbridge heatsink is in the way. But there is a similar ASUS board with the same northbridge heatsink that it fits on. Also- no problem with PSU clearance. I have 2" in my big ol' case. Thanks, Zach

    IDE Bad on P3 Mobo?

I recently bought an ASUS TUEG-VM to fit a P3 Coppermine 933/133MHz CPU I have had lying around. I set everything up and when I tried to install Win2k Pro off the CD, it gave me lots of file copy errors, but it eventually got the OS on there. I think files got corrupted, because the OS crashes...

Power Supply for a budget system

Hey all. I'm currently using a "Mad Dog" 350W power supply and the voltages are sagging incredibly low and causing lots of instability with Win2K. I am looking around for a power supply no more than $50 that uses the "single 120mm fan" deal for optimal airflow and less noise. Cheap- but...
