I have an Alienware X51. I'm installing a 2.5" SSD to replace the 3.5" HDD. Problem is that it's a "slide in" connector. A typical 2.5" to 3.5" bracket changes the position of the SATA connector because it centers the 2.5" ssd in the middle of the bracket, therefore I can't "slide in" the 2.5"...
I finally upgraded my motherboard so that it supports SATA2. My hard drive has been set on SATA1 (1.5GBIT). If I change the jumper on my hard drive to support SATA2 (3.0GBIT) will I need to format the hard drive?
I know it won't give me a speed increase since hard drives can't go that fast...
Is there a way to get notified via e-mail if you receive a private message? I've been looking under profile and personal options, can't seem to find any feature.
The new mac mini now has 2 slots for memory and is in a different location (different from the tutorials available today)
