    Hanns-g 19" Analog \Digital LCD Monitor 99$AR

Just for the heads up, I bought this same model last August and applied for the rebate online to my PayPal account on the 27th of August. I received the rebate at the beginning of October with no problems. Though from checking the link that was another rebate company. It's a great monitor and...

Case Mod, need intake in the front.

Personally, I'd take a 4 1/2" hole saw to the front to completely open it up for the 120mm fan. I'd then put a filter of your choice (I don't use any as I clean out my system once a month anyway) on there.

    C2D - Which HSF?

A good hole saw is rather expensive $30-40, but I find it better than using a dremel tool to make circular cuts. The 4-1/2" is the best for 120mm fans since you'll have to grind down the edges to make sure they aren't sharp, which will take it down a decent bit as well. Hole Saw example...

    C2D - Which HSF?

You can give it a try. Another thing you can do, if you don't mind modding your case a bit, is getting a 4-1/2" Hole Saw and putting a hole right over top of the CPU. Doing this with the typhoon, you might not even need to put a 120mm fan in the hole, just throw a fan guard over the hole. And...

Two silent 120mm fans, what are the best ones out there?

No. Thermaltake uses deaf people to rate their fan noise. Whatever they say their db is, I double it.

Scythe Infinity a good choice for the E6600?

The weight shouldn't be a problem at all unless you move your case around a lot. If you're worried about it, you could always get sturdy wires from a hardware store to have it held do the top of the case.

Just took a pound of dust out of the PC, and reapplied some pasty goodness...

I didn't like the fan filters that most places sell. I ended up using, of all things, pantyhose on my old PC. They were less restrictive to the airflow and were actually better at containing the dust. The only down side is that they stretch out easily so you can't really take them off and put...

Troubleshooting BAD Temp on C2D e6400

When you reseat the HSF, check the contact on it. You'll see by how much of the thermal paste is disrupted. If it doesn't seem to be getting enough contact and you're postive its seated right, you'll have to lap the HS to try to make it flat for better contact.

How long are the knobs on the unit? Unusual question, I know. Tried googling and searching for the answer without anything. I have to see if I'll have clearance when I keep the drive bay door closed. Thanks.

As eelw stated, CoreTemp logs your temp from the time you run it to the time you close. Personally, I trust CoreTemp's temperature readings more than any other program, at least for my rig.

New rosewill case, no idea how to setup fan flow

I prefer to have negative air pressure in case, causing better airflow. Having 3 intake fans against 2 exhaust (counting PSU) will do the exact opposite since the hot air will just continue to circulate because it only has one exhaust fan other than the PSU to escape to. If you have a hot video...

    Sluggish performence

I'd call up some electricians to get some quotes on what'd cost for them to do it. If its a higher number, I'd then call one of them an offer about 70% of the quote in cash that day, if it were a reasonable price.

    Fan controllers

I recently purchased two Cooler Master Aerogate 3's from SVC for $7.99 a piece. My friend had one and its a good controller, though I haven't had much experience with any other brands, it suits my needs. My case is black, but I always keep the front closed anyway, so no one can notice the silver...

When I built a PC for my little brother two years ago I got a Rosewill case for him since its all he'd need. Within three months the PSU crapped out on me. I don't trust them, to be honest. I only go with Silverstone, as its my preference.

    Sluggish performence

Glad to hear you got most of the problem fixed. Now that you're where I was at, you can try my solution: 1. Uninstall the Jmicron software - should be found in Add/Remove programs if you updated through Windows Update. If its not there, try to remove it from Device Manager under SCSI and...

How do you run your fans? poll included

Most of that is just what you're accustomed to. If you used the high setting everyday, you'd become used to it to the point you wouldn't even notice. Then if you dropped them to low setting it would seem unbelievably quiet - even more so than now.

lol I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable members could figure this out. I'm sorry I couldn't help you, I was just going by how I fixed the same issue on my P5B board. I'm not familiar with your board's BIOS, but is your controller setup for IDE instead of RAID? Do you have the most recent...

    Sluggish performence

Wow. Sorry I doubted you. That's really weird. Do you have the controller enabled in BIOS? This is a "stab in the dark" kind of deal, but maybe you could install the Jmicron software thats on your MOBO disc and then uninstall it after the reboot. Then let XP install the generic drivers. If...

    Sluggish performence

    Sluggish performence

At the end of my ID string for my DVD burner it has SCSI. This might've been an isolated case of it being in the string, but the Jmicron controller is falsely recognizing your drive as a SCSI. It caused random disc spinning which completely froze my mouse for up to seven seconds and caused...

Zalman 9500AT running at 45C idle?!?!

Does it at least have a place for fans in the front or back? If so, take the side off of your case to test the temps. If good, then I'd place some fans in the front and back. If it doesn't, I'd suggest either (a) a case mod or (b) a new case altogether.

    Core 2 Stock HS installation

If you plan on running @ stock speeds, I wouldn't see the reason for it. And even if you plan on OC'ing, you'd be better off replacing the entire HSF to begin with.
