    *** Official ASUS P4G8X Thread ***

    I got mine for $202 from MCParts. They shipped it immediatly. Do be aware they don't know if its the std, deluxe, or gold. The description reads like the deluxe, and at least in my case, it came in as the gold. Gold = deluxe plus some dvd/mpeg bundle.

    Duvie's P4 2.4b (SL6EF) C1 Review 2.4@3.06 w/ default vcore for 6hours of P95...gonna get a new Pe mobo...

    Congrats!! I parted with the coin to get a C-1 2.53 from Atacomp just because I lived your fear vicariously, and then used free ground shipping to lessen the hurt. Of course now I feel the fool. Paid too much AND had to wait. sigh.... 2.88 and still going... Now I'll have to check back...

    >>> P4 2.0A C1 <<<

    Very nice! Thanks for the tip. It appears that memory and the gods willing, a 2.66 should have no different overclock expectation (other then sheer luck of the draw) then a 2.4 C-1.

    Thanks Thugs. I'll try not to post too many questions. I'm a network/com. analyst, so its habit. I guess I was trying to avoid the dreaded "ready", "fire", "aim" syndrom. Re: 1; continued search's everywhere I can think shows no "no's", so..... 2; I'd assumed it possible intel was...

    >>> P4 2.0A C1 <<<

    Thugs: I'm trying to pick up a C-1 from my p4g8x, and can't help but notice you used a 2.0. Congrats, BTW, on getting a C-1 version of one. I'm kinda probing why you used this chip, and why so many seek the 2.4 C-1. Below is a subset of a question I'd places in another thread, that's on...

    Update: pulled trigger...2.4b from newegg just ordered...

    Yes the shipping @ atacomp is nuts. Worse, they won't honor the free shipping promo they have on price grabber. Really ticks me off. Of course, its better then screwing around with it, so I just might pay the man and move on. Or not. Things I'd like some input on: 1) I think I've...

    >>> Asus P4G8X-D <<<

    Well that explains the challenges in finding it. It does still seem to be out there in retail channels if I look hard enough. I do note they state the spd configs for that memory, and the xms 3200 are the same, while PJ's 3500 is set different. I've not checked out the samsung config yet...

    >>> Asus P4G8X-D <<<

    Thugs: I'm buying now, would like to get the exact same memory spec's you did :) Can you tell me the corsair part numbers you used. I know its the xms 3000, but don't know if you used twinex, Low latency, etc.. Heck, I can't even fid xms 3000 on their site anymore...

    Asus Vs. Gigabyte Vs. MSI

    Best means may things. Most reliable, no real emphasis on overclocking #1 Intel #2 Tyan Fastest Overclock & generally reliable (but not up to the above), and supported well #1 Asus #2 Aopen (generally a tie for #2, varies by board) #2 Gigabyte

    Where Buy P4G8X??

    Anybody have any suggestions? So far pricewatch still shows lots of gauging going on, but I also hear of folks selling them resonably, just can't find one. Thanks. dan

    PJ's 2.4 c1 on the P4G8X-D

    I've watched Thugs, BT's, and your threads and thoughts on the 7205 for quite a while now. Just had nothing to add till now, and lots to learn. As to your mem scores, I think (and its a bit THINK, not know) corsair configs (programs logic somehow?) the spds or what I believe to be expected...

    Crashing My 8INXP.... again!!

    RE: ATI bug not for 7205: Good to know. From this url: http://mirror.ati.com/support/infobase/4080.html, or http://www.infosatellite.com/news/2002/09/a170902ati_agp8x.html, I'd reached a wider conclusion. Still and all, I've no data one way or the other, so I'll defer. Heck, I'd like...

    Ya'll do know ATI has announced a known problem with AGP 8x boards, yes?

    Video Card recommendation, search already done.

    Yeah, you've made the decision. A dead stable high performance card with some nice toys. = Asus 9280S. And the RDRam aint' a bad call either, but make sure you get something that supports USB 2.0, Personally, if I was in your shoes for a Mobo I'd get the Asus p4b533 (DDR, but still very...

    9700 Non Pro / 9700 NP WTB Brand and Vendor Suggestions Needed

    I'll check out the thread. I don't need to read the support nightmare thread, I've been in the business way to long. Many of the people on this very forum have behaved in ways that are simply outragous, so I sincerely have sympathy for them. On the other hand, I've bought enough systems to...

    9700 Non Pro / 9700 NP WTB Brand and Vendor Suggestions Needed

    I'm strongly considering the 9700 NP. I'd set a $200 budget for a few new computers for the kids, but think the few extra dollars may be a good decision over time. If the drivers hold. I've having a problem both in finding who makes these (well, brands them) and in finding web based...

    Video Card recommendation, search already done.

    You've not stated what you want to do with it, or how long it must last. Having watched quite carefully for 6 months or so, I'me fairly still torn. The decision tree is this: If debugged, stable and proven are #1 then Nvidia. That will create screams from at least some ATI folks...

    Fun with an eBay troll...

    Off topic of course, and purely out of intelectual interest, I've suddenly had an overwhelming desire to do further research on my virus protection software. To do this I need a virus embeded email. Does anyone have one they could send me? Or perhaps to my close and personal oversees...

    Gigabyte GA-8INXP or Gigabyte GA-8PE667 ULTRA2

    Oh dear. Like this hasn't been thrashed about lots already. oh well. My thoughts are: 7205 has: more bandwidth, hence a better likely future for higher clock cpu's agp 8x More time to mature, so perhaps fewer issus like the 845pe "cold boot" Minor cost issues. (assuming a complete...

    ASUS P4G8X Dlx Retail - Available

    I doubt todays P4's are going to take a 200 mhz FSB, so I'm assuming you're thinking this will support next gen p4's. Does this make this an early canterwood experience you think? A bit of the 845g kind of thing? This is compounded by the fact that you're giving up IDE raid and manual IRQ...

    Toms Granite Bay Review . More Questions Then Answers?

    Yeah, I've noticed that's been a trend too. The LCD tests, as an example, drove me nuts. Course, they were done, I'm told, in france.. Anyway, I posted the question over here as this forum tends to be a more active and better informed. Course, lots of names show up in many sites et? Can...

    Toms Granite Bay Review . More Questions Then Answers?

    I've more puzzled by that review then enlightened. Comments and questions follow. RFC? 1) Its hard to call a review "endurance" that doesn't speak to bugs, reliability, interoperability, stability, and suport. Seems more like a performance test to me.... Typical, or course, but hardly...
