Smaller microATX case to replace Thermaltake Soprano V900?

Thanks for the details;). Yeah, I wouldn't think it would be this important, either. I saw plenty of cases that I liked that didn't have 5.25" bays (the Raijintek Styx Classic is gorgeous, especially in blue and actually has a slim optical slot on the side, although I did just find out my GPU...

Fair enough. I guess microATX it is:).

Smaller microATX case to replace Thermaltake Soprano V900?

How's this different from what I said? There's a version of the Prodigy that supports a version of ATX.

Smaller microATX case to replace Thermaltake Soprano V900?

I have an ATX - there's a version of the Prodigy that is ATX-compatible. Appreciate the suggestions. I'd be OK going down a size, as well or going without optical, but it would still have to fulfill the other requirements.

Smaller microATX case to replace Thermaltake Soprano V900?

I've been looking at a Bitfenix Neos, but it's kinda blah, in my opinion.

Smaller microATX case to replace Thermaltake Soprano V900?

My current system is housed in the aforementioned case which I really liked in photos, but didn't realize just how huge it was until I saw it show up on my doorstep. Think Leonard in the Big Bang Theory episode where he buys a time machine replica. I went through with the build but now I'd like...

    Best GPS smart watch/fitness band?

That's good. I have the Aria scale, just need to get more serious about using it. Guess I'm going to try to find a good deal on Surge, then:).

    Best GPS smart watch/fitness band?

Yeah, the Fitbit iOS app is pretty stellar, although it doesn't do a great job of tracking exercise such as weightlifting, but, in fairness, that wasn't part of my original requirements:). What does concern me is FitBit's wearables' quality (I had a Flex that bruised my wrist and ended up...

    Best GPS smart watch/fitness band?

The Apple Watch would have been perfect for me with one small exception: it lacks a GPS feature which I would like my new wearable to have. So, intent though I was on taking the plunge, I'm stuck looking for a different solution. Here are the requirements: - The aforementioned GPS (for run...

I will - but the artifacts happened with my original 7870, as well. Will try DDU, though, to make sure.

    Replacing MBPro13/Dell XPS 13-1943

I ended up with a 1440 Acer S7 (eBay from official Acer refurb store for just a hair under $700). Pretty happy so far, but the scaling in certain applications looks weird: i.e. I see fewer things on the screen with the Acer in Gmail than I do with a 768p Dell. Just the same, lovely laptop and a...

Stylish (read: IKEA-like) case for Dell XPS 8700 parts AND external Blu-Ray enclosure

Ended up trying the Fenix - too cramped - and keeping my Thermaltake Soprano. Will come back to this thread for my next build:). Or maybe go crazy and get a Level 10. http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001903

Upgrade advice from 7870 Tahiti LE

After much mucking about with the 290 and a 970 (during which I came to find out that Newegg's customer service isn't all it's cracked up to be but can be cajoled, bribed and threatened into finally doing the right thing), I finally settled on this card for around $270 after a rebate card (plus...

    Replacing MBPro13/Dell XPS 13-1943

I'm very tempted to get the new MacBook, to be honest with you. The only thing holding me back is the lack of USB ports (and need to purchase additional dongles), as well as the overwhelming feeling that their first update is going to give me hella buyer's remorse.

Not an option and makes no sense in an ultraportable such as the XPS.

Stylish (read: IKEA-like) case for Dell XPS 8700 parts AND external Blu-Ray enclosure

Got the Prodigy M. Very well designed, but very cramped, given all the crap I've got stuffed inside. Will probably end up keeping it because I really like the look, but will likely have to reinforce with additional fans, so goodbye quietness. Ah well.

4K monitor suitable for occasional gaming?

I currently have an Acer B326HULYMIIDPHZ which I got for two reasons: above-HD resolution and large size. Unfortunately, when I tried playing FIFA 15 on it yesterday, I saw quite considerable ghosting. So now I'm wondering what I could replace it with. Budget would probably top out around $600...

Stylish (read: IKEA-like) case for Dell XPS 8700 parts AND external Blu-Ray enclosure

What are your opinions on the BitFenix Prodigy M? Sounds like I should be able to transfer all my stuff over, but will it blow up on me one day due to the cramped interior?

    Replacing MBPro13/Dell XPS 13-1943

(copy-paste from Notebook Review for ease of access to important points) Had a MBP13 Retina, loved it, but it started acting up on me and I couldn't trust it anymore even though it was passed fit by the Genius Bar. So I ended up getting and XPS 13 at the Dell Outlet and loved everything about...

Stylish (read: IKEA-like) case for Dell XPS 8700 parts AND external Blu-Ray enclosure

I agree and I don't. LEDs and multiple arrangements of colors are garish, but the Bitfenix Prodigy actually looks pretty classy. The ones you linked are not bad, but I wish the color was on the outside as the location of the PC would make the window useless (I'd never see it).

Stylish (read: IKEA-like) case for Dell XPS 8700 parts AND external Blu-Ray enclosure

I was in the middle of a meeting, sor-ry:D. I rather like the Rosewill Legacy, but it's a). notably devoid of color and b). friggin' expensive. Sadly, much like the other ones you mentioned:(. I do like the BitFenix Prodigy but have doubts it will fit all of my crap, as well as its cooling...

Stylish (read: IKEA-like) case for Dell XPS 8700 parts AND external Blu-Ray enclosure

Just curious if there are options beyond the NZXT H440. I really like that case (especially in green/black), but am wondering if there are other alternatives. I do like colors in my cases, green and orange in particular. Also wondering if there's a good enclosure for my Blu-Ray drive you could...

Upgrade advice from 7870 Tahiti LE

The reason I ask is because I could probably score a 970 for about $260 right about now. Special order at the kiosk, price match, use coupon (if it works out, of course, but I have a friendly manager at a Staples here). Worth the extra $30 or so?
  31. H

Upgrade advice from 7870 Tahiti LE

Actually...would you recommend the card I ordered, a more expensive 290X or a GTX970? I might be able to finagle my way into a good deal with the Staples 20% off coupon, so might try for a more expensive card if they have it in stock.

Upgrade advice from 7870 Tahiti LE

Just looked at the insides of an old XPS 8700 case (mine hasn't made it here yet). It will definitely extend way into the area under the hard drive bay, but given that I'll be running a modular power supply, shouldn't be too messy. Ordered it.

12 inches...so about 2 more than the 7870. Will be a tight squeeze. What are my options if that doesn't work?

Ah, there that $250 card is again. Screw it. Sold:). It should just about squeeze in, but I'll measure the case again tonight just to be sure.

Upgrade advice from 7870 Tahiti LE

$300 isn't "low" as it is out of my budget. So my best bet is either to get a different card or wait until the 3-series comes out and the 290 inevitably drops.

Upgrade advice from 7870 Tahiti LE

Yeah, we're tracking north of where I want to be. OK, how about I make it an $200 budget? Speaking of length, it probably shouldn't be longer than the 7870 as that was a tight fit already.
