which ram set should i get
G.skill or OCZ reaper?
i have g.skill now and like it but this would be a nice upgrade: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231166
or should i got with the ocz reaper? cheaper in the long run but i hear it takes 3-4 months to get the rebate...
Will 1066 ram work with my board? My board says it only supports up to ddr2 800. Sorry im not an overclocker, but would like to so i dont know anything about voltages, timings etc. should i get that ram or some good 800 ram...
And i already bought the CPU so could you guys stop arguing...
Thats exactly what I did. also they had a combo where you could get a arctic freezer 7 for 4 bucks more which is a good deal on a decent aftermarket cooler. and i bought a copy of vista/win 7 upgrade for $109. Through bing i will be getting 63 bucks back in cash.
I dont like buying stuff...
I've read the p5w doesnt run that size chip well. They support them via bios update, but they have problems. From what i have read, the q6700 is the best card that is fully supported.
Are there any benchmarks that show how well it performs with some more modern CPUs?
BTW im getting an...
Right now I am running a C2D e6400 on an asus p5w DH mobo, 2 gigs(planning to add another 2gb) of ram and an 4890 1Gb VC. Would upgrading to a core 2 quad q6700 now keep my system in the high range for a while or is this chip going to hold me back in the long run? is it worth the $180? I am...
Edit: I am going to go with the ACF7. I found an opened item on Newegg for $14 so thats a pretty good price! I also checked out my old Arctic silver 5... it still seems good so i'll use that.
hmm, so would the AC7 be a better buy at 25 bucks instead of a tunic tower at 50 bucks? The higher I can OC the better i guess. I think i might buy new artic silver since its only like 5 bucks... rather not take a chance on the old stuff. As for air flow, i think im good... 2 80mm fans on the...
Well, I like graphics, and a lot of the newer games either look great and chug along or run great but look blocky and dull. Nothing wrong with it but why not get more power? Most people seem to think its a worthy upgrade.
I'm planning on getting some extra life out of my gaming rig by getting 4gb of ddr2-800 ram, a new video card and over clocking my e6400 with a asus p5w DH mobo.
I can get the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 for 27 bucks at superbiiz.com of the tuniq tower 120 for $50 at new egg. Which would be...
so even tho the 4890 is only 20 bucks more, it not worth the extra 20? most bench marks it averaged 5-6 fps more than the 4870... I think that might be worth the extra scratch.
Right now i have an evga 512mb 8800gt on my intel c2d e6400 stock cooler, Asus P5W DH mobo and 2gb DDR2-800.
I was thinking of getting some more life out of my set up buy buying another 2gb of ram, a better CPU cooler and over clocking to 3.0-3.5ghz and getting a new video card.
I have...
I have a 7600gt passive cooled Video card i am about to sell because im upgrading to an 8800gt. I have not played TF2 on it but it runs CS:S like a charm... i get like 80fps on max settings/resolution. Let me know if you are interested. (Its pci-e if you were wondering.)
The only down side...
Ok, so i have a nice PC and i have direct tv and an HD receiver. I know you can turn a computer into a standard DVR, but is there a product made that can record HD programs in High Definition? if so, what do i need. IF not, what are the best standard DVR cards?
I hooked my PC up to my 50 inch 720p DLP via DVI and it looked pretty good. IT was clear enough to read everything. I don't know if i would ever keep it that way because sitting 6 feet away from a 50 inch or 1.5 feet away from my 22" monitor... i chose monitor
I have an old pc that i wanted to use a media network computer. just to strean video and music from my PC to my tv. My old computer has these horizontal lines moving from the top to the bottom... they look like slow moving refresh lines. It not my video card because i tried the VC and then...
i am setting up my old rig for a friend but it is loading windows sooo slow. same mobo, ram and CPU... The only thing i can think of that makes it slow is the dvdr rom or the HHDs. i have 2 HDDs set up and 1 DVDr. I never had this problem before. i have the harddrives set on master and slave...
i had a 965 board and had the exact same problem. i RMA'd it and got a asus p5w, 975 board. and had 0 issues with ram or anything for that matter. try a new board
i have a 7600gt and its only letting me use the horizontal setting to run 2 monitors. i use to run dual mode on my 6800gt? horizontal mode stretches the screen across the two screens, i want dual mode where one screen has the start menu and the other does not. this matters because i have 2...
i know the 965 chipset has problems with DVDs and HDDs i had a 965 board but it sucked so i returned it, and got a 975x board. are you running a Pata or sata HDD?
Video: Gigabyte 7600GT Silent Pipe II ---$152.99

i have a samsung DLP and its amazing in high def... and its not even 1080p(its 720p, 2 years old) but i could only imagine what the new 1080p look like. DLPs have amazing picture for the price.
no anti virus, no OCing what so ever, ram is running at spec times etc etc.... i get blue screens 20% of the time but mostly just a blank screen restart. is the auto restart a bios setting or a windows setting?

I ran it with just the !analyze -v command cause i couldnt figure out how to do much more. and it said 'Probably caused by' several different things but ntoskrl.exe and win32.sys showed up several times.

EDIT: Is there anyway to make sure my mobo is messed up and not something else if its not software/driver issues?
I just built this setup after christmas:
Intel core 2 duo e6400
elitegroup p965T-a Mobo
1gbx2 g.skill ddr2 800 ram

250sata HDD
BFG 650w PSU atx v2.0
