Definitely a nice deal. I did exactly what Homer said, although this was a month ago when they had 20% off. I bought the exact grill Mrchad linked to and I am happy with it. There are a few issues with it so far:
1) The grills seem too short, meaning when you try to clean the grill they slide...
I just wanted to tell everyone not to by that CPU cooler. It is so bad I am going to edit the original post to take it out. It took me over 2 hours to install. The hold down clamp was too loose, I could lift the cooler of the processor. I had to take that one out and then switch it with the one...
I actually have it paired with This motherboard and a A64 300+ I had lying around. This thing is so nice and quiet I am contemplating no longer using my xbox as a front end and using this instead.
Note: with that motherboard the case LED and Pwr switch wires are right under the PSU and...
I just got the case in the mail. This is really nice! The best way to describe its quality is I guess is that it is similar to nice Dell case. Really well built, very sturdy. The Hdd tray comes with rubber mounts for the Hdd. I only wish I had more uses for a case like this I would by many more...
I was looking for a case for a small backend file server and I found this:
Black low profile case w/ 180W PS
There are a couple of downsides to this, one is it requires a slim cd/dvd drive from a laptop which can get pricy( I don't plan on having one). The other downside is the special...
I found this while looking around at Circuit City's website. Reviews seem to be good and the flaw with the previous model is said to be fixed. Also from what I remember Hitachi is a great brand in TV.
Hitachi 50VS69
The TV is 999 and you can get it to 899 with the 10% off coupon on ebay. I...
Actually no I didn't like it. It shaved worse than the old disposable Schick I was using. I was rather surprised that is was that bad, I guess that is why they are giving them away, but hey free is free.
I never did get my CPU back from him. He returned with no attempt to repair it and I contacted him and he said send it back he would tkae care of it. That was about 2 months ago. I guess I need to take a more active approach as emailing is obviously not working.
Well if you are going budget wise, a 939 system would not be a bad way to go. I say this because you only mention AMD products so I will assume that is what you want. Any of the single core athlon 64s can be had for dirt cheap now, most are under $100. The X2's (dual core) just had a major price...
I came across these in the SVC clearance section. Probably cheap quality, but good enough for a budget build.

I got this in an email from Tigerdirect.com. I checked around and didn't see anything posted already. It seems like a good deal to me, not a seagate with a 5 year warr, but for $50 with a 3 year warr that is not bad.
Isn't there another 10% if you sign up for the target credit card?
Just looked its called the red card and they advertise it on their home page. Good way to save another 10%.
I used to work as a tire tech and I think it was these things that were notorious for leaking. Although I think it was more often after they were a year or old. Also if they are metal they may eventually seize onto the valve stem and the whole stem will need to be replaced before you can fill it...
I am switching over to a Qpack micro atx case for convienence and I have to change my mobo. I am currently running a p4 2.8 and I was noticing that the athlon 64 3000+ are priced pretty low, the same price I could sell my p4 for. So I am thinking of switching over. I am just getting confused on...
Great that answers pretty much all of my questions the way I was suspecting.
Now I just need to find a descent mobo for a good price. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have been thinking about switching to a SFF for a while now, just for the convience of it. I have some questions before make the leap though. I have been considering the Aspire X-Qpack so that I can keep most of my current components. Which is basically my P4 2.8, 1 gig patriot DDR400 ram and...
You should be fine playing with that. I play it on the intel onboard graphics, a 865G I beleive. It lags a little but plays it quite nicely for being a onboard graphics. I was under the impression the 200m was a little better but I am not sur how true that is. By the way my laptop is a Dell 1.4...
I own one of these and I thick it is nice. Never really seen a 8bit panel though so who knows how great it really is. I payed $230. Only bad thing is the speakers on the monitor are not very loud, but that should matter too much. Also as for dead pixels I had none and my friend got the same...
P4 2.8 512/800 @ 230 FSB
Epox 4PDA3i-3
1 gig Patriot Signature PC3200 ram @ 230FSB 3-4-7 2.7v
Sapphire 9600 XT 256mb
So I am pretty happy with my overclock, I just want to make sure I am not minimizing my performance some how. I can get the ram to do 3-3-6 at 5:4 and I am wondering if that...
I want to be absolutely safe with this and really don't feel like frying my cpu so I figured I would ask. stock vcore is 1.525. Would I be completely safe at 1.6? I read that 1.65 is the limit, but my board won't even go that high.I mean there is always the chance it will go, but I just want...
Most boards that have a lock for the sata only have it for specific sata ports. Usually the first one. I would check the manual or call support. A final resort would be to use IDE, but that is no fun.
They are dealing with the same issue over at aoaforums.com under the epox motherboard forum. I hope it is not your thread.
Well I just checked and it is your thread, if it is any concelation I found those forums absolutely useless when it comes to help. They seem more interested in talking...
I had heard asus had problems with voltage droop, but I thought that was under load. I could also be compleley wrong on that one. However you are right about the heat. What thermal past did you use and did you use enough? It should be a nice even thin layer.
My ram is already at the 166 divder and is running at I think 360. Also I don't have a HTT multiplier, that is AMD only, but thanks for the suggestions. Keep them coming. There has to be something I haven't tried.
Well I put it to 67 that and it is now locked, but the problem still exists. I can not run prime95 it halts after 1 min. I can however run superpi, 3dmark and cpu Stability Test. I had the problem at 225 and upped the vcore and it did not help. I also made it to 235 before superpi would not run...
First off have you locked the agp/pci. If not set it to subtle tuning and change it to 67mhz. An easy way to tell if it is locked is to change the fsb in clockgen and if it changes it is not locked. Also you may want to change the settings in bios, it is pretty easy and you may get better...
I did that and I made it to about 235 stable, after that I got errors in prime. The pci I am pretty sure was increasing. Has anybody had experience using tha agp locks on an epox. I am using subtle tuning set to 66mhz, my other options are auto and I think 2/3:1/3 divider or something like that...
Oh yeah and I am using subtle tuning which locks the agp at 66mhz. At least I think it does, I think sandra can tell you the pci clock, but I can't remeber where. Are there any other programs that can tell me?
So I am overclocking my machine and I have managed to get a 225fsb and into windows . It however will not run prime 95, it errors out after a sec. It will however run super pi and 3Dmark ( as long as I don't alt tab out of it). It seems to be completely stable in windows though. I tried upping...
Yeah it is right, if you go by bios, but everything else says it is 200. I checked it with 3 different programs, that I have seen change before with and OC.
Edit: I tried and it won't even sty at 205. I also checked to see if was faster even though it didn't say it was and it wasn't. I was...
Epox 4pda3i-3 and a p4 2.8c.
I am not sure I will check and see if it stays at a lower fsb.
Also is there a way to check the agp/pci speeds. I thought Sandra did, but I can't seem to find it.
I set the FSB to 225 and boot up and it sees that change in bios and saves it. I see it on the post screen as being 225mhz, but when I get into windows it is at 200 again. I checked with cpuz and sandra. I even loaded up memtest and it says 200. So I turned off watch dog and that did not help. I...
So am looking to get anything from the 2.4c and up. It is between the 2.4 the 2.8 and the 3.0. Basically I want to make sure I get something I can overclock safely. I can get the 2.4 for about 90 and the 2.8 for 105 and the 3.0 is about 130. So which one will get the best performance. I realize...
Yeah I have the agp locked. I rally think it is coming down to the cpu. It is pretty stable at 210 FSB. After that it gets kind of unstable. I guess I will settle for a 200 mhz oc.
