Video Conferencing - Gear and Software ?

Hey everybody. Since this is kind of all-encompassing, I figured I'd post it in the General hardware section. On to the meat; I've been asked to look into the possibility of having a videoconferencing network set up though internal point-to-point transfer; a requirement would be to...

    Working with a new set-up - HDMI + / - Digital Optical Question

Okay; What I've got: PS3 New Toshiba TV with a pair o' HDMI ports, a composite, VGA port, couple RCA and a coax. PC connected to the TV via VGA port. (groovy!) 2.1 sound system that isn't quite cutting the mustard anymore. What I'm buying: HTIB, ~ $500 Budget, How it works now...

OMG!!! My 2 drives just crashed...WTF??

This may be completely irrelevant to your case, but try throwing the affected drives in zip-lock bags and chuck them in the freezer for a night. When you 'bring them back' you should get about 10 minutes of activity if the drives are messed (so work quickly). If not, I'd give the Ubuntu...

Fonts way too small in 98% of windows

This is a really neat error... one I've never seen before and neither has Google I guess; All the fonts (boxes, IE, etc) with the exception of command prompt are too small to be seen... and I have no idea why. If anyone has a clue that would be completely awesome. Screenshot below...

Video overlay on an HTPC problems

Howdy folks... I'm having a problem on my HTPC sort of... The situation: 6800 on newest Nvidia drivers Playing movies mainly. The problem: Whenever I use ANY media player (VLC, MPC, PowerDVD etc) in fullscreen mode for a non-widescreen video/film, it 'superzooms' the video and the...

Dual DVD Burners; Making them work?

I'm fairly sure one is a master and the other is a slave on the same channel... It's been a long time since I've installed them... and just as long between restarts :P

Do you password protect your computer?

I password, absolutely. Over 10 characters, alphanumeric, special characters and no basis on dictionary terms. That's at the weakest. It takes a while to type, but Oph and a 'cheap' rainbow couldn't crack it, and I know a brute force would take forever. Gotta...save...my...anime...

Dual DVD Burners; Making them work?

Very similar; One is a Samsung Writemaster 18X w/ LScribe and the other is it's older cousin, the Samsung Writemaster 16X. I should also specify that I'm trying to burn two DVDs containing DIFFERENT content, not the same 'dvd'.

Dual DVD Burners; Making them work?

Greetings folks :D I've got two IDE DVD burners hooked up, 4 SATA HDD's, 2 gigs of ram, a C2D 6400 Procy and a P5WDH board. What I'd like to do is burn two DVDs at the same time; however, when I try to do this, the time goes from 7 minutes or so to a rediculous 33 for both, and at one...

    Conroe Glitching

Yes, I've established the "PIO" "problem" and changing that to DMA unfortunately had no effect. As for usage, it only sucks the fat one when using an optimal drive. Other dual-core related activities function normally and perfectly fine. My voltages are set properly, as are my timings...

    New system specs help

Overclocking potential of the Conroe E6600 Is... amazing. Intel STOMPS AMD in this price range. E6600($400) > FX 62 ($900) Your ram should support overclocking. To be completely honest though, I would consider saving the "overclock" option until a bit later down the road. Keep that...

    New system specs help

Perhaps when Quad SLI is more supported (not sure about current support level now, actually... out of my price range :P) it would work absolutely awesomely. Installing them in that board should be no problem though. It is possible your PSU might be a little light to handle TWO of them... but...

    New system specs help

Overall that looks very sweet. I'm assuming your question has regards to the Corsair ram running correctly with the P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe board? I can't answer the RAM question. As for the 3 year question... yes. You MIGHT have to upgrade the graphics card towards the end of the lifespan...
