amd is gradually losing its market share. i hope they will hit back with a better processor. btw those prices are competitive and we can expect more price cuts in future :D
the main difference is the cable type. IDE has a large cable when compared to SATA which uses a thin cable. when you compare the speed sata is slightly faster than ide (pata drives).
Speed: 150mbps (SATA), 300mbps (SATA 2) and 100/133mbps (IDE drives)
i have a similar problem with my home wifi network. it is in ad hoc mode (Peer to peer) and shared internet is shared through ICS
sometimes my laptop fails to obtain the ip from DHCP and then it goes to limited connectivity. this is usually fixed by repairing the connection/ renewing the ip...
I have the same question. I have socket 939 with 1gb ddr1 ram and a single core cpu (a64 3500+). probably my next upgrade would be a motherboard upgrade cause i can go for ddr2 memory and am2/3 sockets.
C2D has more cache memory than Sempron. It should increase your overall common PC tasks. When you check Tomshardware CPU charts Semprons are way behind at the bottom of the chart ;)
there are many advantages in using xp and vista over mac ox. mainly windows is compatible with almost all the softwares and games ever produced. it even supports old legacy hardwares.
you have to re install all your applications. since you are planning to upgrade your motherboard etc even XP might not boot due to license issues (OEM release). make sure you back all your data before upgrading.
