    thanks all for the post. i have a c2d e6600 and 2gb ram with 8800gts so i should be good to go. went out and bought vista and going to install it once i back up all my files on my comp. give it a good clean on the inside and put in some mighty righteous new 1TB HD.

    source of the problem.

    i have on fan blowing in, two blowing out, the cpu fan facing out. all is correct. it is currently on a good run where it turns on no problem first time, but soon enough i know it will revert back to the craziness decribed before.

    source of the problem.

    i dont think it is a heat issue. the weather has been pretty cool in london and i keep my comp in the cold room in the house and my problems sometimes happen in the morning after the comp has been off for hours. i guess for now it is not so much of an issue, but we will see. just really odd...

    this is really odd, still having my problems with my comp. went to my local comp shop and they said most likely it sounds like an issue with the PSU. but anyway, i find if i open the antec p180 then plug it all up and everything i powers on ok, well, at least the success rate of powering up...
