monitor was working just fine before any of this happened. i don't get a 'no signal' error though.
however i have to note that when i turn on the computer the standard motherboard beep, as it's POSTing, does not happen.
is there any way for me to test the power supply with a...
Had a problem last night when my computer stopped responding. Hit the reset button, and when my computer got to the windows loading screen I would get a BSOD at which point it would automatically restart.
I tried removing my RAM one at a time but that didn't do a difference.
NOW however...
Nice and simple question...I'm looking for a very quiet dvd burner. The one I have now is blaringly loud and is getting on my nerves. Surprisingly, I wasn't able to dig up much information on anything like this...anyone have any input? :)
Thanks.
My OS got really screwed up so I put in a new HDD and installed windows 2000. I can see my drives now, but if I try to enter x:\Documents and settings\user, for example, I get an 'Access denied' error. But other folders seem fine.
Can I disable this somehow?
Thanks
Ok I've got this thing open but I don't see any chips with 24c02 written on them. I'm looking below the CPU on the mobo, if I read the writup properly.
I was working on an older Dell Inspiron laptop. Upon entering the BIOS I was prompted to enter a password. My customer does not know the password, nor is she the original owner. Dell support needs the name of the original owner so they we no help. I'v tried taking out the CMOS chip, that didn't...
The array is actually still there...If i try to create a new array it won't let me, it gives this error: "cannot create array because there are not enough disks.".
The only thing it will let me do is select a boot disk, which i tried, but i still get a boot disk error.
Can i delete this...
I did that, in the raid setup. It still detected the hard drives, one as a BOOT and the other as hidden, with the array sized to 320gb. I also set the boot device to ATARAID in the motherboards bios as well.
My old rig booted off of 2 160 GB in raid0. I bought a new rig and the old one sat for a few months. Recently I tried bringing it back to life and I found out that for some reason I couldn?t get any video cards to work in the AGP slot. I updated the BIOS, pulled everything off of the board etc...
I didn't notice any problems with the 430watt 20 pin Antec though (well, until it died lol). What performance gains would I get out of buying a new PSU?
Alright. I found my problem. Dead power supply. Great, this is the second part in this build that was defective. Anyone know if Antec has an RMA policy? :P
Anyway, thanks for the help. I wonder if this 300 watt Enermax can support this system lol.
Here are my system specs:

I ordered it through my work. I got a nice discount for it since I'm an authorized reseller of ATI. Anyway, there's a form that has to be filled out and faxed in. I ONLY CHECKED OFF RADEON X800 XL 256MB PCIE and yet they claim they see it as AGP. At which point I tell him I'm looking at my damn...
Either I'm going nuts, or this isn't a PCI-Express video card that I ordered.
pic
I ordered a fscking PCI-Express x800xl....is that what you see in the pic?????
I just got a bunch of parts in the mail today. I got an ASUS A8N-E with a Antec TP 430watt. But it does not have a 24 pin connector...can i still conect it? I hope so...:(
Actually yes, there is a Corsair 1GB stick with 2.5 CAS. But it's $131 ($262 for 2x1GB), newegg has Corsair XMS series 2x1GB for $226.00 with a CAS latency of 2 :).
Thanks for the replies. I think I'd like to go with 2gb of ram to start off with, and I still want to leave room for upgrading in the future. Hence I would need 2x1gb sticks. The only value select 1gb stick on Corsair's website is the VS1GB400C3, which has a CAS latency of 3. Isn't that a bit...
Alright, say no more :). Here's the revised list:
