    Mac Pro case switch?

OK, good deal, I'm hoping the screw holes are in the standard places. All I meant by running OSX on x86 architecture was that I hoped it was legally allowable ;) .

    Mac Pro case switch?

I'm on the market to purchase a Mac Pro so that I can run some OSX-specific apps. The problem is, the damn case is too basic. I would prefer to have some 5.25" slots so that I can mount a SATA backplane for easy access to hard drives. And I would like it to be rack-mountable. Among other...

    Looking for a backpack...

Yeah, no. Not enough padding for any of the equipment being put in. No one knows of a specific hard drive backpack, or even soft case? Help!

    Looking for a backpack...

I'm looking for something to hold both a laptop and two external hard drives, without the hard drives being beside each other... meaning that they would be above and below each other, but still sitting on their sides. There don't seem to be any bags that have a higher compartment large enough...

Tried with RAM and without. At this time, I'm thinking the mobo is dead, too.

Yes, inspected for bad caps, couldn't find any. I suppose I'll go over them again, but I don't think I missed anything.

    Computer not booting...

I'm trying to fix my girlfriend's computer, a pre-built eMachines something or other. It was purchased around 2.5 years ago. Last week, the dang thing just stopped booting. Completely. I get a light on the mobo when plugged in, but cannot get even a fan to spin up. The mobo's an Intel...

    How are these monitors

You'll LOSE no more than a half inch if you go to a 19" WS from a 17" non-WS...It's going from 19" non-WS to 19" WS that you will notice a vertical space loss...

    How are these monitors

You will lose some vertical, yes...A 19" WS is basically the same height as a 17" non-WS... but it's a widescreen ;)...

    How are these monitors

No friggin way, the westinghouse will be $200? That being said, I don't know how they are for games, but with a response time of 5ms (WH) and 2ms (SS), you should be fine.

Looking for some advice on external HDs...

So here's my situation: I have a Pro Tools setup at my house, and also use several others at the university I work for. It's a pain to have to re-plug every time I port my external HDs to and from the two locations. I also want to cut down on cable clutter at home. What I'm looking for is...

Fry's (Outpost.com) not selling WD internals...

So I went onto Outpost.com a few months ago to order up some more Western Digital hard drives, since I had previously gotten a few 160GB SATAs for $55 each, shipped. I noticed that they weren't selling any WD internals at the time, save Raptors. Thought to myself, "OK, they're just out of stock...

    Looking for a specific-sized keyboard...

So I just bought a 19" rackmount keyboard/mouse drawer, sans keyboard and mouse. I've been looking for a keyboard to fit into it (mouse isn't a problem, as it has a built-in pad and spot to stow the mouse when closed). The dimensions it needs to fit into are 16 5/8in by 6.5in (42.4cm x 16.5cm)...

How can I tell if I have Winbond chips?

The Manufacturer code is OCZ4001024WV3DC-K, which should be the winbond chips. I just wanted to make sure they were in fact Winbond. The chips read: OCZ X4W560842C-50 0516K From what I've read, some people received blank chips, and some received chips with the OCZ logo on them, but I've...

    Newegg DFI NF4 Ultra

I must have gotten mine the last day they had them up as Retail, right before the end of May. They also jacked the price a few bucks; I paid $130 plus S&H. The same thing happened at Chiefvalue.com: swtich to OEm and a price jack. Coincidence?
