welp i've finished with this and here was my solution:
i created a web page with the desired wallpaper as background and an embedded muted infinitely repeating audio file.
no further delay when an audio stream starts and no speaker popping when the audio shuts down, except when the pc...
following the cmedia driver installation it promptly requested a cmedia device... which i do not have exactly. so... it stopped installation. basically it didn't go as well as it could have :)
so... i've made some progress. i've set windows media player to start when the system boots, running in the background at a zero volume with a short looped clip. the problem is gone. the receiver is constantly receiving a data stream, so no popping, no audio delay, no audio problems at all...
did not work. i notice the pop is when the audio signal from my pc stops being received by my receiver. it goes from showing dts to not showing it, then it goes from 5.1 to 2.1 and there is a pop. the signal from the pc ending definitely causes this issue.
interestingly, the issue with the...
welp i have been playing around and have gotten nowhere really.
originally i had simply disabled the onboard sound through the bios, figuring that was the best way to go. after some consideration i re-enabled it and went in, disabling it in the control panel. i tried removing it altogether...
great idea! i tried clicking on the wrench, i have driver version 1.2 (the newest one on razer's website) and the only options there are "microphone boost" and "monitoring (microphone to line out)"... unfortunately neither has helped one jot :| the one next to that, spdif in has a wrench and the...
i believe this is exactly the problem. where did you find this setting? i do not find anything in the razer software allowing this, nor is there anything in windows (where i would expect it to be). any help with this? or, alternately, what program did you use to always keep the sound card...
htpc specifications:
amd athlon x2 4200+
gigabyte ga-m57sli-s4 v1.0
patriot 2gb ddr2 800
razer barracuda ac-1 (sending audio to my receiver via optical audio)
evga 7900gtx
rosewill 550w psu
windows xp sp2
basically 2 issues, the main one being whenever a sound stops playing (windows...
i've never had to rma anything from evga, have had multiple video cards from them including 6800gt, 7600gt and 7900gtx.
friend did have to rma his 6600gt however :o
i don't want to step on any toes :) it's not a "for sale" thread, but i'm thinking about selling a pc either as a whole or parting it out and was looking for some pricing guidance. i didn't see a pricing guidelines forum and was wondering where i could post without making other members crazy...
occasionally when booting up my htpc i get a message during boot, instead of "verifying dmi pool" i get "building dmi pool" followed by "flash rom protected", which consequently leads into a no system disk detected.
power off, power on will reboot fine. happens perhaps 1/3 boots. does not...
i came across this thread while googling an identical problem. however...
i am using a ga-m57sli-s4 with an athlon64 x2 4400+ cpu. i do have raided 36gb raptors on this system along with a number of wd storage drives. i did not have this problem when this was my gaming rig in another case...
i also used mine on a wii last weekend. got no guff about it either. can't beat $222 including tax :thumsup;
i saved my original, i will be using it on my next wii games purchase as well, assuming they're still taking it :D
i just read heatware tos and it would seem that they will address revenge feedback, i think i have a decent case to leave a neutral feedback, assuming when i receive the item today it is as advertised.
as a note aside, i was supposed to do the install on my bosses home computer earlier today...
has anyone had to deal with revenge heatware when purchasing an item? i have not left negative or neutral feedback yet but am inclined to. i'm concerned about revenge heatware however. thoughts?
basically it took a week for them to ship the item after telling me it would be out next day...
a warm deal because it's the only place i've seen to order as well.
price is def not a hot deal tho :( i'm assuming since they don't list a second nunchuck they don't include it.
considering it anyway :P
i have raided 36gb 16mb cache raptors and they are remarkably quiet and are astoundingly fast. the coolers for the drivers are louder than the drives themselves :P
i paid $105 apiece for em new mebbe 6 months ago, $120 at bb for the 74gb version is a great price!
i also got in on this deal, i've got to give it
my printer does not trip my ups altho my settings are 90/135v. it prints quickly, quality is great so far, small footprint and hassle free.
the only point that i was concerned about was a possible networking issue, reviews i read...
recently purchased an eclipse (the original) from compusa when they had the $20 ar deal. fantastic keyboard, i would say even a touch better than the logitech dinovo i use downstairs
my experience is the same as everyone else :| i posted this over on pc perspective but will say the same here. i would add that the m55 series owners contacted gigabyte about getting a bios update to fix the pci lock issue and also got a negative response. they then contacted some folks here at...
the way the paypal thing works is it covers whatever your shipping cost is up to $20. i ordered a new laser printer and my shipping charge was $1.xx for it ;)
the thermalright one you have in the pic is the hr-03. the only other thermalright i was thinking he could be talking about is the v1 which will not fit.
i have ~20mm (3/4") on the front side of the card. there is significantly more room on the back side of the card... altho anything towards...
unbelievable, after checking the length on the heatsink, the power supply in my case is going to prevent me from using the thermalright. i thought i had found the perfect solution. i thought wrong :|
so... any other ideas?
wow, after some research that thermalright definitely appears to be the way to go. $50 bones :( but ya gotta pay to play i suppose.
after upgrading my htpc and reassembling, i simply cannot handle the noise of the stock geforce 6800gt cooler.
only problem i foresee is the 4 port usb card i...
