No DirectX 10.1 in Vista SP1

Having read that Microsoft finished work on SP1 and announced a RTM, I was curious as to how will this work on my Vista 32. And then, the bad news, that I had to wait until march or even later to install it. So, I just downloaded off torrents the SP1 that everybody called Final only to find...

    Zalman VF700-Cu on a 8800GT

I have a Zalman VF 700-Cu and I wonder if it will fit a Geforce 8800 GT. I've seen this and it looks the same. Stock cooler with those temperatures just don't look ok to me.

    ATI's HD2600 has 120 Stream Processing Units

I just counted the SPUs from this picture. Also, it has 128 bit memory bus width like the 8600GT(S). Nvidia: 8800Gtx has 128 Stream Processors. 8600Gt(s) has 32, so a 4/1(2.5) ratio. 8500 has 16, so a 8/1 ratio ATI: HD2900 has 64x5=320 Stream Processors.Link HD2600 has...

    R630 pictures appear

http://www.pcgameshardware.de/?article_id=571589 The R630 must be a pretty powerfull card if it needs a two slot cooler. I wonder if it is really only 128 bits. Could this be the R600 nonOEM, maybe the XL or some 65nm version? XTX2900 coming March 30th...

    First DX10 Crysis Benchmarks Appear

Link Results don't seem too impressive, quite the opposite. However, it's a work in progress game with video drivers not mature enough. It paints a bad picture though for those of us who cannot afford a 8800 GTX (let alone 2) and hoped that Crysis will run ok on a 8600 Ultra, let's say.

    ATI R600 - 19 shader units?

Here in the quote from Beyond3D: "Richard's talk concerned D3D10 performance on upcoming ATI hardware. Confirming it was a unified part in hardware, he asked the assembled crowd to think of it as a 17 shader unit part, so that he wouldn't have to give the game away before it was announced...

    Crossfire with internal bridge

ATI seems to go the same way as NVIDIA has done from the beginning. They will loose the dongle and go with an internal bridge to connect the two cards. VR-Zone has some very nice pictures of the ATi RV570 & RV560 using that internal bridge. Link The pictures aren't very clear, but you can...

How to add Black bars in an DivX video?

I need to make some CDs in Divx format for a Stand Alone DVD player that supports DivX format. The player also support subtitles (a must for me), but for some reason they look really small on my 4/3 TV. Most of my videos are in 16/9 or something bigger than 1.33 between width and height. I want...

X1800 Master cards will be available in early December

The fastest available ATI Crossfire Master graphics card is still the Radeon X850, which is the reason why we picked it for benchmarking. X1800 Master cards will be available in early December, and obviously, these are going to speed up the ATI benchmark numbers quite a bit.Link
