Did I get a dud, or am I doing something wrong?

This is making me crazy! :( I wanted a relatively moderate OC to 3GHz, but I am having terrible luck. I can't get this thing stable at 3GHz. It fails Prime almost immediately. I've tried upping the voltage as high as 1.4, but I don't want to increase it any further (temperature is becoming an...

Need help picking out a PSU.. too many options!

First off, specs: Antec P180, so I need long cables Q6600 Intel CPU EVGA 680i SLI board EVGA 8800GTS 320MB video 2x1024MB DDR2 800 RAM 2x SATAII HD 1x DVD-ROM/CD-RW (reads DVDS but won't write them) I plan on overclocking it to high hell. Drive-wise, I'm getting a SATA DVD burner...

    Huh? Q6600 running at 1.6GHz?

Laptop Screen Repolarization - Any Info?

This is a slight cross-post from notebookforums.com - trying to get some information. :) Here's the summary: I had to choose between 1440x900 "normal", or 1900x1200 glossy. Because my notebook will be used for gaming a lot, I didn't want higher resolution because I'd have to stretch my games...

    Overclocking in Windows vs. Bios

As I've become a little more cautious with my beloved PC hardware, I've been making an attempt to be "safer" while seeing how far I can push my hardware. It's sort of like wearing a bicycle helmet while cliff diving, but it makes me more comfortable with what I'm doing. Tin foil hats aside...
