New Cooler Master Fan controller survey - help us out!

I agree, users do need a good fan controller. Unfortunately, the inner workings of today's computers are very dynamic. Simple web brousing and email barely use any of thier computers power potential. But fire up a modern game at high rosolutions (think multiple monitors and all options set to...

Best heatsink fan to use for ABIT Fatal1ty AN8-SLI socket 939

You spend $200 plus on this mobo and you want to put a cheap (ok inexpensive) HSF on the CPU? If you used up all your jimmy getting the board, just use the HSF that came with your CPU (provided you bought the boxed version). If you went OEM, then go with what Husky55 reccommened. Better yet...

    Lian-Li PCV2100B

There is a size difference between the 2100 and the 2000 (I think the 2100 is taller), so I do believe the side panels are proprietary. Anyone else?

    Lian-Li PCV2100B

Hi all, (help?) I'm looking to get a Lian-Li PCV2100 in black, but I have yet to find one with a windowed side panel. I have seen replacement panels for the 2000 series but not for the 2100. Thanks.

    LCD and DVI cable questions

Hi all, I just ordered a Dell 2405FPW LCD monitor and was looking to upgrade the DVI cable to a better one. Apparently, there are several different types of DVI cable (eg. DVI-I single and dual link, DVI-D single and dual as well). Can anyone tell me if most LCD monitors have the four analog...

I just cannot find what is wrong with my system

A fan as big as your case? WTF? 4 80mm fans in bottom front, and a 40mm in back? This sounds like a recipe for disaster! I'm not surprised your temps are up. If the BIG fan was blowing in, where is the heat supposed to go, out the 40mm? NOT! If the BIG fan is sucking out, the air the 4 80's just...

Best way to clean...and keep clean your tygon tubing?

A couple drops of bleach does wonders. Also, ditch the Tygon tubing. Mine stained like a table cloth at a wine tasting party. The clearflex is way better (and cheaper).

Going from 1/2" to 3/8" back to 1/2" create a bottleneck?

Although I wouldn't use the reducing PCI bracket, you probably won't notice a difference in temps. Your pump won't know the difference.

    Case Material Types?

Why would I need my case to rigid? Is it holding up my desk (feet). No! Hell, I would buy a case made of cardboard if it were quieter and cooler. And what the eff does molecular desity have to do with it? Please.

    Case Material Types?

Most cases I'm familiar with are made with aluminum, steel, acrylic, plastic, and even wood (why, I don't know). The material a case is made from has to do with it's cost and target. People looking to get a CHEAP case usually get a steel and plastic one. Hell, for the longest time, this was all...

Can I replace my stock heatsink with an aftermarket one after using Arctic Silver Ceramique?

I hope not!!!! I would not advise using adhesives to attach any heatsink to your CPU. BAD BAD BAD!

Need a quiet case *like* the Sonata but *without* a P/Supply ?

What makes the Sonata so quiet? A case is only as silent as the components it houses. If your case is loaded with Okasa paxmats, that would make it quieter, but the heat dispersion would be horrible. Get a nice Lian-Li case. As far as I know, none come with a psu.

    Need advice

Neither. Get a Lian-Li PC-V2000/2100. Those cases have 120mm fans front and back. Granted they are out of your price range, but you won't regret it if you save up and get one. It will be with you a long time. Here is a link to a review (good pics)...

Leak checking a new watercooling rig...

I didn't wait 24 hours, and mine developed a leak. It leaked after I hit my Hydor L30 pump a few times with a hammer. I hit it because it wouldn't start. F%$King hydor pumps suck!!!!!!!!!!!! And this was the second one! If anyone has a Hydor L30 that is working and not leaking, good for you...

    Reccomend me a watercooling setup

The Zalman reserator is WAY to bulky and has mediocre cooling ability. Get a decent gpu block, res (or T-LINE), pump, and 120mm fanned radiator. Nuff said.

    Need Help Quieting my system

You could use a fan controller to controll the CPU fan. Does you gpu have a fan controller switch? If so, set it low. I have the Abit IC7-MAX3 mobo and you cannot hear the capacitor cooling 40mm fan (at least not over the whine of any other fan). The 'Raptor' HD's are not noisy. My...

    SLI Ready PSUs

BonzaiDuck, I agree with you completely. The time has come for PSU builders to step out of the dark ages and crank up the juice. I'm sure most builders would want to stay away from having TWO psu's, even if your case could house them. But if no one steps up to bat, having two psu's might be the...

    these clamps any good?

Those clamps will be fine. McmasterCarr.com has some that are like that, but they have a double clamping mechanism. As far as your tubing choice, dump the tygon and get the clearflex. I have HAD the tygon and it gets stained much quicker. It's not worth the cost.

    good looking cases?

Indeed! I'll even open it for you.

Narrowed it down to these PSU's

Any of those 3 you listed are more than enough as far as amps on the 12 volt rails is concerned. As far as PCI-E compliant, I don't know. It doesn't matter though, I'm sure you could take the +5, +12 and ground wires and wire them up for connection to the vid cards and the aux connector on the...

    SLI Watercooling

It really depends on what block your going to use to cool the gpu on each card. You could use a DD Maze 4 on each. This would be the cheapest route, but your not actively cooling the memory. Then you could go with the DD NV-68 gpu block. This thing is a beast at almost 2-3 pounds. You'll...

Is pci-e 6800 Ultra worth the wait/cost or just go 6800 GT?

I have looked and looked and found very little. If you want it by mid Jan, then get the GT's. By the time you would want to add a 2'nd 6800 ultra, they might not exist (ha ha).

Better cooling the Silverstone TJ03 or the Lian-Li PC-V2000?
