I'm a Toyota guy so excuse my ignorance. Looking at a 01 Pathfinder with 150K on it. What should i know? Google has already told me about putting loctite on the power valve screws. Anything else? I can handle any work--up to a full rebuild.
04 Ford Fusion 3.0 Duratec DOHC V6. 209,100 miles.
PCV valve failed, line collapsed, and blew out the gaskets.
I replaced:
Valve Cover Gaskets (Fel-Pro)
Upper and Lower Intake Gaskets (Fel-Pro)
Throttle Body Gasket (Fel-Pro)
Timing Cover Gasket (Fel-Pro)
Front Main Seal (SKF)
Oil Pan gasket...

Two years ago, got tickets in two different cities here in Louisiana. One for parking in a handicap and one for expired inspection.
I never paid...then I got a notice in the mail from the DMV saying my license is suspended.
I know, stupid.
Fast forward to now: I'm a...
I've been in corp IT for the last 4.5 years (Financial Industry), Security, networking, virtualization--but now I'm back finishing a CompSci degree and I'd love to get my hands dirty again by doing some undergrad research.
But I'm having trouble thinking of worthy ideas--advice?
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do this, as my network has a few routers between the vlan and the net and ACL's just restrict access from an IP(s) and not to them?
What happens in the case of there being mixed devices on the same subnet? I'm assuming that since there isn't a router or L3 switch to fragment that you have to rely on the gigabit hosts to do MTU discovery?
Can they be used at the same time? I know with dd-wrt I can specify one, the other, or both.
What I want to do is cover a narrow, but LONG hall. What I was thinking was if I could hook a directional panel antenna to each jack and put them back to back. Would that work?
Or does the...
It's time to retire our venerable IBM RS6000 model F80. :(
We're switching from DB2 on AIX to Oracle on x86 so I need some ideas on what to do with the old girl. I never touched it once in 3 years!
Specs: 2 x 450mhz RS64III CPU's. 4 Gigs of RAM.
I already googled around and...
We've got an old 1700 that no longer needs to do ISDN duty. I was going to purchase a WAN WIC for it and use it as a backup router/VPN for offsite site-to-site vpns.
I do VPN with PIXs all the time, but I've never tried to terminate one with a normal router. Do I need to buy any license...
A phishsing/adsense spam site is targeting our company. They've put up sever sites that now show up pretty highly ranked in google.
I tried whois but it doesn't yield much - any other avenues of exploration?
Our lawyers are hungry for details lol.
I've had this notion for a while of starting a not for profit it consulting firm.
Basically IT professionals from the area would volunteer time to provide consulting for other non profits/charitable organizations. Also, being that I'm in LA and near new orleans, we could provide disaster...
Obviously we can use 802.1x to make ports dead so protecting unused jacks is not a prob.
But, we have had some dumb employees who needed a phone line or wanted to move their desk unplug some cat5 before.
Do they make lock boxes that allow the cable to run through?
Like we put on our...

My eyes are all puffy from allergies and being so late, I look like I'm high - plus the brows need a little touching up :o
We have our main domain xxxxxxxxxxxx.org hosted with a vendor.
We want to get our own managed server box and run other sites from it. But we want all these sites to be subdomains.
ie.:
business.xxxxxxxxxxxx.org etc
Do we have to run our own DNS for this? - or does the vendor...
Working on an algorithm project with my dad, it requires integration of functions both definite and non.
Now I have no trouble doing this on paper, but I've never tried to "program" calc.
I mostly do php/mysql - but I've done some C# (gcc) and VB a long time ago.
I'm open to...

I tore into my ibook to put in a bigger hard drive and I got a little rough. The connector that the power button harness plugs into broke off the mobo!!!
It's got such tiny leads that are right next to each other :(

I need a rack mount gigabit switch to put about 8 servers on, but right now I can't push alot through our budget so a Cisco is out of the question.
I don't need it to do anything fancy but switch. I just need it to be STABLE.
How are there managed switches? I see one for about...
So I'm moving our training room into its own vlan. I used cluster management to create the vlan and assign the ports statically to this vlan (vlan 2).
Then I did this on the router:
1800 Router:
interface FastEthernet0/0.1
encapsulation dot1Q 1 native
ip address 10.0.0.20...
Looks like a 17xx series eh?
We are going to setup a very small remote branch with probably 4 employees. I don't need a 2800 or anything for this.
We were thinking of getting brave and trying a site-to-site vpn, but I don't trust the stability.
Yikes!
We NEED server 03 on here for some continuous backup features of our backup solution to work with exchange.
I'm thinking it might be easier on myself to demote this server and just make another W2K server a DC. Instead of trying to have a mixed domain.
Also, will exchange...
Like random subdomains not resolving? Slow loading of some sites and not others, major ip's (google etC) not being pingable off and on.
Even people I know 3 states away are having this problem (but on the same isp).
Maybe it's just cox.
grrr
Cisco 806 router, cox cable branded cable modem.
I've cloned the MAC and host on the router, still no go. What's weird is that my pc gets a 70.0.0.0 ip when connected to the modem. But my router will get a 10.0.0.0 router when connected.
here's my config:
I can ping the...
I use Cisco IPsec client to connect to work. The client works fine on my laptop.
My apt provides internet via ethernet jacks in the walls.
The client WILL connect, but I can't ping or pass traffic through it.
Any idea on how to get this working? Can I tunnel it somehow?
I signed up for high speed internet from their webpage.
4 days later I get the modem/starter pack with some ladies name on the label :disgust:
I call them and this person, who lived here over 3 years ago, used to have an account.
So before they give me service I need FAX them my apt...
He's a nice guy. Maybe in another world we could be friends.
A world where I don't order pizza in secret and binge on it all night in the dark. A world where I don't think I'm too good for women. A world where I don't have to keep feces covered paper towels in a ziploc bag because I'm too...
ok I'm setting up some static PAT in my pix to try and get more out of the Public IP's we own.
Normally this is super easy to do, but I want to define a static pat for an ip, and then make ALL OTHER traffic on this external go to another ip. Can't figure out how to do this :disgust...
Was a huge story when nintendo dropped its long running partner NEC and their MIPS cpu's.
MS dumping intel in the xbox 360.
Power PC phones, etc, etc.
Just wandering what makes it so appealing for both small embedded and high end products compared to MIPS, ARM, geode, etc?
enjoy
