Unless you go 64bit you will only be able to use 3gb of ram. You may want to get 4gb of ram and plan on upgrading to 64bit Vista in the next 6 months. I may be adding another 2gb of ram to my new rig for that reason -- I can say that I have not seen more than 60% of my ram used while playing the...
Yes -- what you need to do is use sysprep to clear all the computer specific details out (this may wipe other things) and then pull the disk image before rebooting it and allowing it to load in to windows.
Yeah -- I complained as well -- can't believe they don't at least have a $10 and we'll send you the media option.
I want to test the 64bit version so I can tell customers do go or not to go to it, but despite having just spent $1300 to buy the 'puter to run it I ran in to the dreaded MS...
I just built a new computer using a DP965LT main board and I am having problems getting all four speakers to work.
I have the most up-to-date drivers off of Intel's site, selected to make the jack for rear speakers. The Test in the Vista control panel is successful with all four speakers...
Question for any other Action Pack subscribers -- is the DVD they sent only Vista 32bit? Is there anyway to get the 64bit version via the action pack?
Thanks
I am going to give Vista 64 a try too... but likely will end up with Ubuntu (I have been running that OS in its 32bit form for about four weeks)... though gaming will eventually require Vista or a large Cedega re-write.
I have four computers sitting at my house that I leave on 24-7 so I am looking for some advice...
Can I run more than one DC app/service?
Will the fact that they are all running on the same cable modem be an issue?
Would it help on my beefier machines to run Virtual Server and run...
If you play at very-high resolutions you will want more memory -- currently the benchies for my resolution 1280x1024 show very little value in paying the extra $120 for the 320mb of additional ram.
I just ordered my computer last night -- came in at just over $!300 with shipping.

I assume you can have 3 or 4 12v rails each at 18 each and meet those specs... which is what many manufacturers are doing now... but that tags shows only one... which is odd considering they claim 550W
Well with the Seasonic being out-of-stock I have decided to go with an Antec unit. I have always had good luck with them -- they may not be as quiet as the Seasonic units, but I am under a time constraint to get this system built.
Thanks for everyone's comments and suggestions... if the...
No I have not ordered yet -- was waiting to get more feedback and then going to shore up the order.
Just went to New Egg and two of the items are Out Of Stock now so I will have to do some tweaking if I want it before next Monday.
I am looking to build a system as well -- the case I am looking at is:

OK -- if I am willing to spend the money on the Seasonic or Corsair -- which would be better? The modular or the standard design -- why?
I have never used a modular design before so I am just curious.
How loud would it be?
The PSUs you recommend are almost double the price.
What about this unit

I am comparing the following two cases and trying to make up my mind -- other similar suggestions would be appreciated too.
