This.
VPNs aren't that hard to set up. Hell, even on of those dumbasses from Geek Squad could probably manage it.
You can do it on the cheap with 2 Linksys routers and dd-wrt.
I have a shiny new 3G with unlimited everything for work. And yes, the novelty does wear off.
After having mine for a couple of weeks, I wouldn't shell out and buy my own.
I miss my crackberry. It sucks being a sheep.
No, it's in West Palm Beach. Unfortunately, this is becoming more common in Palm Beach County. Hoodlums and dirtbags are steadily moving north out of Miami to infect the rest of the state.
Take a look at the VMware cert (VCP, I think)...virtualization is "the next big thing" (that started several years ago) and VMware ESX is a very powerful solution.
A repair install is the way to go. It will just re-install Windows, leaving the file system and your applications intact. However, they may not work after the repair install. Office, for example, will still be "installed" but it probably won't work.
I did it during the summer of 2002. I spent a month backpacking through Europe. It was very inexpensive back then (everyone was still scared to fly due to 9/11 and airfare was dirt cheap). We stayed at youth hostels and some inexepensive hotels along the way. If you're going to travel...
TranceAddict.com's forums always have a lot of links to sets...here's a link to the New York forum: Linky

I went to Florida State and got a B.S. in Information Studies - the program didn't prepare me at all for the real world. Most of the courses were "theory" and no practical work whatsoever (only had 2 or 3 classes in a computer lab). An IS degree (if it's like a CIS degree) will not prepare you...
You can install QB on each workstation and have a shared data file on the server. No one needs to log on to the server.
I can't comment on the Vista question...we don't/won't use it here.
Have you tried to access the share via UNC? Start, Run - \\computername\sharename Can the hosts ping each other? Also, if you're using My Network Places, you sometimes have to right-click on My Network Places and choose explore. You can then drill down to your shares.
Right-click the folder, Properties, Security, Advanced, Owner, then take ownership of the folder and all subfolder/files. After that finishes, try to uncheck the read only attribute. Out of curiosity, why are you trying to change the attribute?
I use XP/2003 built in fax application. It's by no means the greatest, but it works. There are third party apps that do it better, but they can be fairly expensive.

If there are icons for Active Directory in your Administrative Tools folder, then (unless you've installed the admin tools) you are sitting at a DC.
You can always dcpromo it down to a member server, reboot, then dcpromo it back to a DC.
The login issues are probably related to DNS. Is...
If you have an XP CD, you can pop it in and run "sfc /scannow" from a Run window. SFC is Microsoft's System File Checker. It will check all of your Windows system files and repair as needed. It's helped me out a couple times...couldn't hurt to give it a shot...
