Rated 1.95 or below and you'll be fine. Although some ram, like mine, is rated for 2.0 or 2.1, but will work at 1.95. Just the timings arent so tight.

need some help with understanding vista drivers mainly for cpu/chipset/sata controller

What happened with mine was that Vista already had the chipset drivers already. Shouldnt be a problem.

Yeah! Microsoft released a plethora of updates and ATI 7.1 Vista

People have to complain about something. Besides, most complaints I've seen come from people with beta versions or just dont have it.

    Vista 64bit?

As long as you dont have some weird devices, drivers shouldnt be a big deal. Granted, some of the 64 bit Vista drivers are still in beta, but they still work fairly well.

Right now I've been running Vista 64 bit. I was a bit worried about getting a BSOD like in XP, but so far so good. I'm still on 304. I'm a lil too scared to flash it.

    Windows Vista Rules.

I know everyone is saying that ReadyBoost is bad for a number of reasons, but what is missing in this discussion are simple numbers. Theres no discussion on how much Vista is actually utilizing the flash drive to begin with. I have 2Gb of ram and I know it accesses the flash drive, but at the...

Either way, if your using Vista you can complain that it shows how the VMM isnt very good, but if you want a little boost, your still going to have to do it. Complaining wont boost performance.

I thought the samething. I have 2Gb of ram in my computer, and i can tell a different using ReadyBoost. Mostly in loading programs and such. Since its so simple I'll keep doing it. Is it slow if I dont use ReadyBoost? No, but the speed up is appreciable. But it would not be a big deal at all...

    How's Vista Gaming Performance Nowadays?

Well ReadyBoost doesnt seem to be the culprit, in fact it sped up load times quite a bit. In the Counter Strike:source video stress test I got 146 fps. In game, on dust2 and office, i averaged out at ~110 fps. Range was around 90-150. Day of defeat seems to give me problems with fps. Each map...

    How's Vista Gaming Performance Nowadays?

I'm on Vista RTM, framerates are the same in the two games I'm playing. Dont have any other games to really compare it to. I was expecting to have all kinds of problems, but at least for what I'm doing, fps are just as good as on XP. Although, recently I've been playing around with ReadyBoost...

    How's Vista Gaming Performance Nowadays?

I've been playing Counter Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source for a while with max settings. I've been getting 70+ fps specs: Athlon 64 4600+ x2, ATI X1900 GT, 2GB 800Mhz Ram edit: I'm on Vista 64 bit

    Windows Vista Rules.

I'm currently running Vista in the 64 bit flavor, and truthfully, so far I cant complain. The little annoyances that come along with it, like the lil window that pops up everytime you open a program can be turned off, and I've only had 2 small issues. Media Player Classic doesnt play well with...

Someone asked about this a long long long time ago. It had to do with nvidia drivers for Vista. Well, at least last night, nvidia hasnt released any Vista drivers on their website. But after installing Vista final, all the drivers from nvidia were already there, much to my surprise. So at least...

Petrovski - I'm kind of skeptical about it. I know it can be done in AIBooster, but if you flash M2N-SLI bios, you still cant get above 1.95v on the vdimm. I tried, just kept going back to default. Granted, cross flashing bios doesnt mean much, but it left me a lil disheartened. Over all with...
