Not sure how long I will keep it. I am due for a rebuild in the next year or so but whatever card I buy will get moved to my 2nd box and get used for a while so I want it to have some guts. Looks like there are some pretty good options at around 200.
My video card just toasted and I'm in the market for another. I mainly play World of Warcraft right now. Can you recommend a replacement? Would like to spend no more than 350. Thanks.

I tried replacing the cables and the monitor and it's still happening. It screen starts to lag, pixels go haywire, it hangs and then the system reboots. Now I'm not getting any video.
I was playing World of Warcraft and the graphics went nuts and pixels filled the screen and it hung. I rebooted and played more last night OK. This morning it's happened 3x in 3 minutes. The drivers are up todate. What should I look at as the problem? Graphics card? How can I diagnose this...
Did some searching and found the writeup on testing the PSU by jumping it with a paper clip. The article was well written except it didn't give you an expected result. I assume the PSU should come on in this situation. My PSU is not powering on. I am assuming that it's bad and I'll pick up...
This morning my computer won't power on. I can see that the motherboard is getting power for a light that comes on but nothing is happening. I'll post my specs with I can put them together for you. What are the possible problems here?
There has been a randomly occuring problem that I was not...
Do you know what I should be looking for? I don't see anything that refers to the two ports in the mixer. Now the mixer that is popping up is the Creative mixer, do I need to pull up something else?
I just picked up some TRITTON AX360 Digital Audio Gaming Headphones. The only way I can get them to work is to unplug my speakers from my sound card and plug the headphones in. I tried to use the Coaxial S/PDIF Out port and the Optical S/PDIF Out port on the motherboard but they did not work...
I have had this system up for about 4 months. About every 5th time I start the system it will not boot and give 3 system beeps. I have to upplug it and start it again and it will launch. It's wierd because it happens so randomly. It purrs like a kitten when it's up and running. Any suggestions...
I can't make clear the instructions for the slots on the ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium motherboard that I should be putting the two 1gig clips of memory. The memory that I have is listed below. Here are the four slots:

DDR2 DIMM_A2 (black)
DDR2 DIMM_B1 (yellow)
DDR2 DIMM_B2...
The cord that comes with this video card has two leads that could be plugged into the power supply. The manual is not clear on this issue. Are they both supposed to be plugged in or just one? I am running just the one card.
Thanks!

I used to have a program on a floppy that would completely wipe my hard drive instead of just reformating. I gave away the disk and can't remember the name. Can someone point me to a good program?
That was it, thanks! I used the steps they suggested and it worked! Not the only wierd thing is that no matter what I set my default home page too it reverts to blank after reboot. Not really a big deal but annoying. Anyone had that happen?
Here is my hijack log.

Is this still the place to post problems? I hope so.
MY brower is getting hijacked at launch to http://www.allsecuritynotes.com/. I used some of the tools here to fix some other issues but this problem continues. Is there a specific action I can take to remove this?
Thanks!

Why is it bad? It does not come up on any of my other systems. The window doesn't bother me that much but I figured that I err'd since it does not come up on my other systems.
Greetings and Happy Holidays!
I just added my wifes new laptop to our home network and added our printer. When I reboot now I get the Windows :Log On to Windows: signin window. Can I get rid of this?
OS is Windows XP Pro.
Thanks!
Nobody has this setup? Per the Thermalright site it will fit but I was hoping to find other users. If you do have it, which way did you face the pipes?
Will my XP-120 fit on an ASUS A8V Deluxe Socket 939( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813131510 )? It would not fit on my DFI board so it's colecting dust.
Thanks!
UPDATE
There is a blurb in the manual that says If you are installing more than on double rank DDR400, the maximum DRAM speed will automatically be limited to the speed of DDR333. However, the BIOS provides the option of manually adjusting the speed to DDR400 by selecting "200" in hte "Max...
Last night I did a rebuild. We misread the board/manual and put the two memory sticks on the same channel. We were getting blue screens and cold not figure it out. I reread the manual this morning and I put them on separate channels and it seems to be working but now with another problem.

I get a message that says "Could not start GPCIDrv driver" about every third time I start my computer. My system is the Chiefthawk system in my systems except that I now have a Gigabyte Nvidia 6800 GT video card. Please help!

I play a lot of BF1942 DCF and FH. I have a DSL and my ping is low...not the lowest just low. I was wondering if a player enters the game with a very high server ping does if affect the other players pings or gaming experience? I notice that many servers put caps on the server ping and I was...

From the specs on Abit it looks like the memory is compatable.

Memtest is running (been running for 10 hours). Looks like it has found two errors already. This test is above my technical knowledge. What are these two errors telling me? That my RAM is bad? Both sticks? Or is it testing/failing some of the onboard motherboard memory? I'll post the results of...

Paperlantern,
I could not for the life of me catch what the blue screen was saying but I went ahead and booted from the CDROM and did the chkdsk /r. The first time it ran to 6% and stopped saying that there were unrecoverable items. I tried to run it again and got the blue screen and this time...
My wife was just looking at a web page and the computer rebooted itself on its own. When it tries to reboot, it gets to the Windows XP graphic with the then for a spilt second I can see a blue screen flash and then it goes to the post screen and then it stops at a window saying that "We...

I am setting up a new computer for a friend tonight. He bought a Dell with XP Pro. His old comp is running ME. I will be transferring all of his old data over. Can you point me to any checklists to follow so I can assure I get everything or can you offer some pointers?
Thanks,
Thawk
