    are you looking for an LCD or CRT? as far as CRT's go, id say samgung and nec make good stuff, if you can get a hold of a sony/dell trinitron, go for it for lcd....hanns-g, samsung, and viewsonic are good try to keep under 8ms

    really depends on what kind of music-listener he is if he's an "audiophile", he'll know to steer clear of all audio things USB but if he's a casual listener...im sure if you buy something from a reputable brand, i dont see him being disappointed
